This isn't something new but just a reminder. It has been all over the news this week about the unprivate comments on forums, blogs, ect. Lawyers are loving it, and private investigators have their jobs made easy! Whatever you want to know about someone can be found online. I saw the public apology thread and felt sorry that we no longer feel the liberty to say what we think or feel without it being thrown in our face.

I will say that when it comes to the angel hair doctrine - those that preach it should learn a valuable lesson from what we have posted as it is not Biblical and is heresy. No apologies are necessary. We do not want to hurt others but in this modern age we can no longer tolerate false teaching, mind control, and manipulation. It should be easy to weed out those who abuse and cause contention. It is not those who oppose false teaching and manipulation who are contentious but those who think they can get away with it in this day and age.

The evils of internet are contradictory...just like anything else; it can be used for edification or for destruction...it is up to the individual

Good thoughts, Rhoni, and necessary to remember! Blogs and forums are not private diaries and should not be considered as such. ANYTHING can be hacked, even with what we perceive to be tight security.

This is true. There is nothing private about the internet. The pictures and situations people put on their my space and blogs is sometimes embarrassing as well as a picture of their character. It is alarming.

I know that corporations are using these venues to check up on their employees too.

If you call in sick - don't post a picture on MySpace of your ski trip that day! LOL!

2 things:

1. Never say anything online you wouldn't say in "real life."

Expressing opinions and disagreement with someone's belief system is NOT defamation of character. "Defamation of character" doesn't even apply.
