Conservatives and Traditionalists Is this as Good as it Gets!
I have a question for those who espouse to the tried and true ways, is this model and philosophy the best way to organize and structure ministry in the church body?
You can see by the pictures that there are inherent weaknesses, are you willing to change the way you do ministry or do you believe that they way you do it is the very best?
What keeps you from changing how you do church?

Keith...
Just a question...not directed towards you, but to pastors in general...
Wouldn't you want a church where everybody is involved in ministry?

Keith,
Your model is not totally typical of every assmebly on either side of the equation. All we can really do is speak hypothetically. You may be asking some of us the question who understand a healthy congregation may well be a blending of the two systems you put forth.

Upon further review of your "system" I think you have written it to portray the traditional church the way you would like folks to view it that you are trying to sell the "house church" concept to. Your equations are actually pretty far off base.

What percentage do you see as "willing" to be used in ministry in the traditional church model?
It is not far from 10% usually.
I know of a church that had near 2000 in attendance last week. They did have 200 involved in outreach through the week.
Seems 200 divided by 2000 is on target to Keith's illustration.

I though every pastor wanted this. I am thankful that I have very competent people to handle Sunday School and a youth leader (young preacher) who is second to none. I have a young man who is very good with outreach, he's a little ruff around the edges sometimes, but a good young man. I wish I had someone to do music, right now it falls my lot, but I would gladly give it up if the right person comes alone.
