Repentance...
I have an acquaintance that is some sort of Baptist-Calivinistic-Non-Denominational-Make-It-Up-As-You-Go thing... and he has given many verses of scripture to back up how after you repent for salvation, you don't have to repent anymore... and I know I have been taught the opposite, but I need help with Biblical proof! Thanks!

Re: Repentance...
1Jn 1:9 for starters If we confess our sins ,John was writing to those who were already part of the Church.

Re: Repentance...
How can a person confess a sin if there is not sin anymore for a believer? This comes down to the mentality of "no law" or antinomiansim.
Get a book called "The Believers Conditional Security" by Dan Corner. Which is huge and pretty good. Though he is a Faith Only person he harshly goes against OSAS teaching. You can also look up some stuff on YouTube which is decent. I believe his nme is Mike Desario. He goes after Hanaagraf and others. He teaches using clips of the OSAS teachers etc...

So I have been listening to this Dan Corner. Great stuff btw! BUT, do you believe what I John 5:16, 17 says?
I John
5:16 - If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
5:17 - All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
I am confused on what to think... anything would be greatly appreciated. :-)

Re: Repentance...
Thank you guys for the useful links! This person is OSAS, but my question is more why you have to keep repenting after salvation? Thanks again! Peyton

Re: Repentance...
Repenting and asking for forgivenss are two parts. Repentance is turning away from the flesh back to the leading of the Spirit thus he has reign in your life. Asking for forgivenss is a petition before God. Your petition means nothing if your heart has not turned away.

Re: Repentance...
So now I am confused and freaking out a little bit. So, I know and understand that you must repent, be baptized, and be filled with God's spirit to be saved. But once you are saved, and living this life, you fall. It happens to everyone. So, when you fall, do you repent? Ask for forgiveness? Both? I thought we were supposed to repent for everything. My "friend" says you don't have to repent after the initial salvational repentance. And to think, I have been Apostolic my whole life... (I'm 22 btw.)
