Tes, yeah I know you have a thread already, but you didn't talk about the service.
:-)
Amazing anniversary service, hopefully a couple pics and maybe a brief vid to follow.
By freak chance I ran into longtime friend Mark Grissam at a Barnes and Noble today and mentioned where I was going this evening.
He gave me a brief history of the church, Apostolic Tabernacle. It's a daughter work of C.L. Dee's church, Irvington and celebrates its 32nd anniversary this week.
Tonight's service featured tremendous local talent including Pentecostal recording artist Brittany Macy.
In spite of the music minister being bearded and wearing a pumpkin spice colored suit, and the PASTOR'S WIFE wearing a RED dress (lol couldn't resist) it was a fairly typical conservative UPCI church.
The music really took me back to my roots. (Not a single Jesus is my boyfriend song the whole night)
Also got to meet Sis Stewart. Sweet lady. He kept trying to explain something to her along the lines of "see honey I told you those people online really do exist".
PO et al didn't make it so the only white women I saw ogling him were my daughters. LOL.
For the curious, Bro Stewart is every bit the genteel, intelligent, suave, Christian (and opinionated lol) man he appears to be online.
The church will no doubt be packed out this Sunday night when Bro Jerry Jones is the guest speaker and the amazing AT chorale sings.
Bro Stewart and I were the last to leave the property and under different circumstances probably could have easily spent the night sipping coffee and getting better acquainted.
It was an honor to meet you sir, and God's blessing in finding a new property as it is obvious you are outgrowing this one.
Be blessed.
JAG
PS. Meeting a few more men like you and I may have to re-evaluate my opinion of music majors....

It was a great thread until that last line. When I come back, I'll have a great response

Lord no...please no vid. We were having our fair share of issues last night. Maybe I'll have some good vid this Sunday.
And I just don't have the energy to fight you on the last line. I'll just say that the Bible has a few examples of some psalmists who did some pretty incredible things . I know that you were playing, but I have seen preachers say some pretty incredible things about music people. Being both a musician and a preacher, I see the great importance of both and in the combination.
We absolutely need to get together for some coffee sometime soon.
