Contrary to some, motivation to vote against someone is just as legitimate as being motivated to vote for someone.
The reasons to vote for Mac to keep Obama from winning are many:
1.) He will raise taxes. He says only on the top 5%, but he is also going to raise captial gains taxes which will affect the 56% of Americans who have 401(k)s, most of which are not making $250,000 or more. A tax hike on anyone at this stage with our economy needing growth policies will be detrimental to America.
2.) He wont promote drilling domestic sources of oil in order to bridge the gap between an oil based energy policy to an alternative energy policy. We do not have the technology or the ability to make alternative fuels affordable yet, so in the meantime we need to drill offshore, drill ANWAR, drill, baby, drill. We can make an immediate impact on our dependency on oil producing nations of the world and send them the message that we cannot be held hostage by them anymore. Gas prices will go down and it will help our economy immediately.
3.) He will appoint liberal judges to the Supreme Court and throughout the judicial system. One of the biggest factors in steering this country in a wrong direction socially and culturally has been the liberal judges who have chosen to interpret the Constitution as an "evolving" document. They have on many occasions circumvented the will of the people through their elected representatives and senators and overturned legislation that reflected the will of the people. Without strict constructionist judges in the judiciary, our country will continue to allow for abortion on demand, redefining marriage to accomodate gay couples, continue to promote wrong headed decisions like the eminent domain debacle or granting constitutional rights to terrorists and enemy combatants.
4.) He will implement liberal education policies. As much bad news as we have heard about "No Child Left Behind", the positive result has been that the public education system is doing a better job at educating because of the demands for accountability and emphasis on results. BO was involved in a very liberal, socialist education initiative in Chicago that was indoctrinating the children involved in very strong socialist ideology.
5.) He will retreat from the War on Terror. Admittedly Bush and Co. made plenty of mistakes in conducting this war, but the answer to those mistakes is not to retreat. Pulling out our troop from Iraq before they should come home will only create more disorder in the Middle East, endangering our national security.
6.) His policy toward Iran will be misguided. Meeting with the leader of a country that sponsors terrorists and threatens Israel only legitamizes that leader and gives off the appearance that he is the President's equal. The Clinton administration worked vigorously to pursuade North Korea not to develop nukes, gave them aid, made concilations and in the end they did it anyway. The Bush administration cut off talks, made no promises, sent a strong message and now we have North Korea destroying their nuclear progress. Obama will be taken advantage of by rogue states because of his naievete.
7.) Obama is sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. He will break from generations of America's commitment to Israel, he will pressure Israel to make more concessions on top of what they already have, and he will weaken Israel's position in the Middle East.
8.) Obama's past associations and alliances are with some very radical and dangerous people. He has had relationships with these people for 20-25 years. It is hard to believe that his connections to those people has nothing to do with their politics and ideologies. What kind of people will he surround himself with once in the Oval Office? What kind of people will fill the appointed positions of leadership and the people that will be moved into the bureaucracies of Washington?
9.) There is this appearance that for poilitical expediency that many controversies and radical statements and sentiments have been sequestered in order to win the election. What about Michelle Obama saying she was proud of America for the first time in her adult life? What about the slip of the tongue when BO told the plumber this week that he wants to "share the wealth" when it comes to taxing businesses? What does he mean by that? What about the many radical ideas espoused in his books that he is silent about now? Why distance yourself from people who you have been close to for decades and then suddenly in the past year you have backed away from?
He is handsome. He is smooth. He carries himself well. He is telegenic. He has an ability to speak.
But the scales tilt heavily against Mr. Obama to be President of the United States of America for four years. There are too many unanswered questions, too many dubious associations and too many radical statements and ideas.
Obama supporter, change your mind and vote McCain on November 4!

I think you make you're points very well. The problem is a lot of your reasoning there is why John McCain is losing now.
We don't need to give big oil thousands of more acres to drill when they aren't even drilling what they have. Drill baby, drill doesn't solve the oil situation. It's only a smoke screen.
No Child Left Behind was never funded and hasn't done a thing to improve education in this country. It's federalized local school districts and made teachers teach to standardized testing. Obama's right on Iraq and the majority of the country realizes that. John McCain's "50 more years" plan is silly and will bankrupt this country. It's time to go after the actual terrorists who struck this country on 9/11.

"Big Oil" would be drilling the millions of acres that they have available to them if those acres contained oil. That's what they're in the business for. That argument is the true "smoke screen" on this issue.
Drilling for domestic oil doesn't solve the energy problem for the long term, but it will do the two things that I cited above: first lower gas prices, helping our ailing economy and loosening the froeign oil producers grip on the price of oil. That is not only an econmic issue, that is a national security issue. Our economy is fueled by oil no matter how you slice it or dice it.
Second, There is 60 years worth of oil locked up on our shores and in ANWAR. I think we could come up with alternative energy solution by then. But if your solution to this is NO MORE DRILLING for oil, let's develop alternative energy only---we will be bound to the Arabs and Chavez and Russia for another 10-15 years while we make alternative energy sources viable and affordable.
The Democrats are either straight out lying when they say drilling is not a solution to the problem or they are purposely ignoring basic economics and elementary national security principles.
No Child hasn't done a thing? Then why are our kids test scores rising since its inception? The no funding complaint is non sequitur. That's the mantra of the liberal, Democrat Party immersed NEA and other teachers unions. THEY DON'T WANT TO BE ACCOUNTABLE! How much funding do you need to conduct some tests? How much money is needed to check to see if students are learning? Isn't that what they are supposed to be doing anyway? Since our public education system was failing, somebody had to do something about it. Ultimately the proof of the pudding is in the eating and the facts are that since No Child began our kids scores have risen. Tha campaign against it is coming from those who don't want people holding their feet to the fire and causing them to have to prove their worth. Its been an effective campaign I'll admit, but they are spreading misinformation to guarantee the program will lose its support. THEY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO PROVE THEY ARE DOING THE JOB THEY ARE GETTING PAID FOR WITH OUR TAX DOLLARS! It's a matter of record that the test scores have risen since 2001.
Obama is wrong on Iraq, the commanders on the ground say that the job is not finished. Mac's comment about how long we will be there was not saying that's how long we'll be there, it was to say how long we would be committed to fininshing the job. The point was not to set how many years it would take, it was to say we are committed to victory, not defeat like Vietnam. Obama admitted with his own words that the surge wildly exceeded everyone's expectations, but then wasn't willing to say that the surge was successful. He let it slip that in his heart he knows it worked and is working, but politically can't admit that because of the radical liberals he is beholden to and the fact that more troops was Mac's idea in the first place. The mistake will be if BO gets elected in the first place, and then if he does, he will pull out our troops before victory is secured.
And "going after" the terrorists that bombed us on 9/11 are in Pakistan and what does BO propose? Going after them even if that means attacking across the Afghan/Pakistan border wothout the Pakistani gov'ts approval. Not smart to anger and alienate a country that is already volatile and has nukes. There is a smarter way to do it, but BO doesn't seem to understand that. I doubt he really would do it anyway, he and the rest of the Democrat Party don't have much of a stomach for military action beyond lobbing a few cruise missles at terrorists and trying to "arrest" them so we can provide them with a lawyer and habius corpus and treat them like petty theives rather than enemy combatants.

Deacon, you can reason until you are blue in the face. You're not going to change the minds of these people who have this love affair with Obama. Doin't confuse them with facts they alrady have their minds made up.
