"Troopergate" Probe Finds GOP Vice Presidential Candidate Unlawfully Abused Authority In Firing State Employee
(AP) Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain's Republican ticket.

Yes, the economy is the chief issue, but I'm not sure about this report on Palin having little impact.
The media have been salivating just thinking about getting something on Palin. Unless something major surfaces against Obama before November, I think this may be the sinking of McCain's ship.
This report may not move the numbers a lot, but with where they are now, it will not take much of a move to destroy McCain's numbers.

"The investigation revealed that Todd Palin has extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers. He used that access to try to get trooper Wooten fired, the report found."
Soooo, the husband was doin the dirty deeds, not Sarah. Hmmmmm...

Ummmm ...... WHAT ????.. she abused her power ...oh but , not in the case at hand. yeah, ok.
"The ethics inquiry, which Palin's supporters have called politically motivated, found that a family grudge was a factor in Palin's dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan -- but not the sole factor."
