Linda Ronstadt with James Ingram

I don't think she got enough credit, what a voice!

WOW so now I know what these people look like who sing this song! Great voice for her, but she has nothing on Whitney!

I have just never been a big LR fan.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I enjoyed the "American Songbook" stuff she did with Nelson Riddle. Of coarse he could make anyone sound good.

Wow, at a wedding. Who would have thunk?
The only thing that came to my mind regarding Linda R was when I sang "Desparado" in a bar. Wow, miles ago.

Opps! sorry on about this but LR has a lot on Whitney. LR has a 4 octave voice. That means going from ABCDEFGABCDEFGABCDEFGABCDEFG on the key board--Whitney can't get do that range. However, singing quality is also defined by what is called tone and tambre. I can see where you would prefer Whitney to LR, a lot of people would.
