How fun!!!
Homemade whipped cream and butter are WONDERFUL!!!!! Careful, though. You'll spoil yourself.

How much heavy whipping creme? How long do you shake it? And how much salt? And no, I have never thought of making homemade butter! I knew it was done back in the old days but did not think of doing now days!

grew up on it. great stuff..
I still shake the milk jug when I get it out of the fridge...
We grew up going to the dairy to get our milk. when it sits in the fridge, the cream rises to the top and you have to shake it back into the milk before pouring or you will have a glass of cream.
Its been years now but old habits die hard.

You don't have to shake it in a jar, you know. A hand mixer works just fine. Stop when it forms soft peaks, and add sugar to have your own First Class homemade Whipped Cream. (A little vanilla or almond flavoring is good, too)
Keep going if you want butter until it's the consistency of Land o' Lakes (e.g. BUTTER), salt it to taste, and there you go! The perfect topping for toast, or better yet, homemade bread.
To whomever said "how much cream"...as much as you have. (Well, at least a cup or more)
