PP, you is just a youngan'!
In the early 70's, before Jimmy Carter tanked the economy, I remember prices in the 30-40 cents per gallon range!

I really don't remember PP, but I do remember when I was little during a "gas war" as my dad called it, was .19 a gallon.

I remember gas wars and Coke-a-rama's and Quality stamps being given when you purchased gas!
I remember them washing your windshield, filling it up for you and it costing .30 a gallon!
Of course, I never paid for gas until I got married -- it was great! My dad owned a few gas stations and I'd just whip in get the tank full, grab a Dr. Pepper and an oatmeal cake from the vending machine and be on my way.

I can remember when it was .25 a gallon. My husband can remember the same gas war as Cn's dad and he can remember purchasing gas for .19 cents a gallon in Oklahoma City in 1972. Within 3 months there was a shortage of gas and cars were lined up at gas stations.

I was born in the late sixties, but I can't remember gas prices that low. Probably too young to care back then.
I do remember when every gas station was full service.

We still are, sis, regardless of the price of gas, or what our natural fathers own!
