Fundraising Idea
Our youth ministry is in desperate need of some funds for our new youth center. We are in need of instruments and some lighting. Does anyone know or have any good fundraising ideas that could possibly bring in near $10,000.00
Any of your ideas would be of great help.
We will also take tax-deductable donations if any of you feel moved to do so. PM me and I will give you the info.

Re: Fundraising Idea
The pepsi co. gave/donated several hundred pepsi cans
that were actually piggy banks on the top of the can.
we gave them out to the members they filled them with
coins. we raised over $3,000
someone here told me that they have a consession stand
at their state's football game that brings in big money

Re: Fundraising Idea
start selling bottled water at your rehearsals and services.
collect monthly dues from your choirs and youth group.
just 2,3,4 dollors a month
it all adds up
we have sold dinners after morning service and made
nearly $1000 clear. BBQ and mexican sells great

Re: Fundraising Idea
Mark,
As you know our church gives alot to SFC and we use the sheaves for christ cans and fill them up for the cause of christ. I dont think I want to compete against that cause with the pepsi cans. Although it is a very good idea.
thanks,
Have you ever done a concert which cost money to get in?

Re: Fundraising Idea
Being involved with Bible Quizzing, Puppet Teams, Ladies Aux, SFC and various other venues where fundraising was done, I've tried just about everything -- all the usual stuff -- bake sales, car washes, etc. And true, all the little totals add up but it takes so much time and trying to get people involved to do it is sometimes hard.
A couple of things that seemed to generate more funds with less expense:
The "hot dog wagon" or concessions at Walmart. At one time WM would match whatever we raised. We would get most all the items donated so our overhead was low. A hard days work, but good money most of the time.
Sunday potluck. We did this occasionally and asked folks to bring and then make a donation. MOST cooperated fine. Some complained about having to bring the food and then pay for it, but overall we would do better at this than having a supper and a set fee. In general people seemed to "donate" more than what we would have set for the price.
Wednesday night suppers. We would do light suppers like soup/salad or salad and baked potatoes.
One thing I have NOT been involved in but I know of several churches around that have and that is selling fireworks. I understand it is VERY hard work for that window of time that it is legal to sell fireworks but that the income is good. I've heard of some churches bringing in 10K during one run.
In "my day" our biggest fundraiser was the SFC walkathon. My feet hurt thinking about it!

Yeah, done that too! It's too hot to make brittle now! It would be one sticky mess.
As hot as it is around these parts you might make good $$ on a dunking booth --- especially if you had the right person in the seat!
