Barbecue-Gas Or Charcoal?

We have had a little table top Propane Barbecue and am looking to replace with a big unit.

There are two choices, Gas or Charcoal Briquet's.
What is your choice/preference?
Gas has the heat but is expensive.
Charcoal is slower but does it have the heat?

What are your preferences?
What works for you?

Barbecue season awaits.

Charcoal and wood. yes it has the heat and it beats the flavor of gas hands down. My next to the oldest wanted a charcoal grill with smoker for his birthday last year. He got it and we grill out all the time. He loves his grill and takes care of it. He is also getting very good at knowing what he is doing. We even make our own rubs, marinades, and sauces to use.

Compare prices as to how much a bag of charcoal costs and how long it will last to the tank of propane

I prefer gas. It is much faster and you don't have to worry about having enough coals to finish your meal.

Re: Barbecue-Gas Or Charcoal?

We do charcoal. As a matter of fact just got through eating burgers and hot dogs off the grill. I love potatoes baked on the grill and other veggies too.
