Re: Deep Holiness message by the missionary
Oh my I remember being taught that when I was young. But I was a tomboy, and a lot of times my dresses even though long enough for sitting and standing were not long enough when climbing trees, riding bikes, etc. lol
Then came coulettes. At last freedom for tomboys................

I like to tease ... I knew most would open this up thinking ...what in the world...
Have a good day....love you folks...
I really did spend almost an hour talking about that and other things to my class...
We really had a good time and a lot of laughs...
Working with young people we have to be on their level before they can learn from us.

I know you did this in fun but it is an important lesson you've given them nonetheless.

Re: Deep Holiness message by the missionary
I have to say I do have one person in my life who could use your notes... I fight tooth and nail to teach and then she goes home to mommy who well... is far from ladylike and tells her that its not needed for her to sit or act certain ways... then she comes to me and we start all over again... YAY me!!!
Makes me want to scream at times!

People remember what you say and they are not offended if you have them all laughing...

I seldom talk on certain things on a one to one basis as it is so easy to offend...however in groups it is easier because it is not like you are taking it out on any one person...
Souls are very precious and even though we do all we can to help there will always be those that we cannot help for one reason or the other...

Yes!!!
Sis. Alvear, that is great that you are teaching the young ladies those lessons... If they aren't taught, then how can one learn. My mother was a preacher when it came to how ladies sit and carry themselves....I learned at a very young age how to sit and how not to sit. Unfortunately my cousins whose mother was far from being a lady, they had a hard time learning.... Eventually they knew when they were around my mother, they had to be proper. My mother's rules were to keep your knees together, don't swing your legs if they are crossed...and your skirt had to be long enough to cover your knees when you sat down.... when I say cover, I mean it went a couple of inches below the knee when you sat down. That way you weren't squirming around to try and be modest! Thank God for my mother and other ladies who take time to teach girls how to be modest!
