My oldest who is 10 & in grade 4 had some hockey players come to School & told them that if in a certain period they read so much & did some physical activity they would get free tickets.
Well she completed the task, and while it wasn't the Canucks playing, it was the
2007 Memorial Cup Champs the Vancouver Giant's vs the Seattle Thunderbird's.

Now while I could care less about going, my daughter said that she worked hard to go & wanted it to be "father daughter" type outing-so I went.
Ten bucks for parking, 9 dollars & 75 cents for two Cokes & a big bag of popcorn
& 10 bucks for a souvenir big hand & we got to our seat.
It was in the rafters, the nose bleed section!
I saw Angels moving around we were so high up!
The game starts and they are singing the National Anthem & the Star Spangled Banner starts up. It looked like the singer was forgetting the lines, turns out his mike was failing, neat thing is the fans started singing it to help him
Game starts & there is immediately a bunch of fights & penalties.
I immediately thought of Timlan.
Between the periods a couple of mini blimps come out of the rafters and fly around dropping give aways (prizes) on the audience.
Never did get to us, not enough helium to get that high.
Next the Mascot comes out riding around in some jeep doing wheelies & shooting a cannon full of prizes.
Again he did not see us as a few clouds must have obscured his view.
Third period, we start moving towards the street level entrance as the other team has us 4-2 others are leaving as well.
I don't know if it is healthy or not but 30 bucks later & 12,350 screaming fans tell me I am getting old!!!!
