Unsubscribing to threads; never knew I subscribed?
Can somebody tell me how to unsubscribe to threads that I never knew I subscribed to?
Is it done by thread or is it a global setting?
thanks

Go to User CP, click on list subscriptions. You can unsubscribe to any threads there by placing a check mark next to all subscriptions you want to unsubscribe to, go down to the bottom of the page and choose delete subscription in the drop down menu, then click Go
Also, any thread you reply to creates a subscription....at least that is my experience. There maybe a global setting for that which I have not discovered yet. So, I will now be subscribed to this thread....

Re: Unsubscribing to threads; never knew I subscri
I wonder if the whole subscription thing increases the metrics involving the number of views?
does that help a discussion board's advertising rate?
...just being nosey!
PS: t.praise
thanks for the info....easy to select all and delete.
seems to default to weekly email.
I tried setting "no email" but it said no threads selected (cause I just deleted ALL), so I guess the anouncement uses email weekly as a default but can not be preset to some different global choice.
PPS
P-rax....can a subsubscription announcement preference be changed as global setting by a USER?

I'm not Prax, but happened to see this.
Go to UserCP> Settings & Options> Edit Options. Under Messaging & Notification is a setting for 'Default Thread Subscription Mode'. In the drop down menu you can choose 'Do Not Subscribe'.
Is that what you were wanting?

thank you for the comment.
I was looking for a way to set my global default to "do not subscribe". I think what you have pointed out is a change in preference once a thread is subscribed as a result of posting in the thread.
In otherwords, its an after-the-fact change rather than a before-the-fact preference.

I just changed mine, and posted, with no additions to my subscribed threads.
