God's Approval!
I brought this up in another thread, but I thought it deserved its own thread.
How does one's vision know it has God's approval?
Can it be because the Holy Ghost moves in your service? There has been moves of the holy Ghost in services where pure heresy was being peached!
Can it be when folks are recieving the Holy Ghost in your services? Keep in mind that the Holy Ghost is poured out in Trinity churches too!
Can it be because the vision is growing? Benny Hinn's following has grown by leaps and bounds.
What are your thoughts?

Many years ago when Bishop NJ Wilson was my pastor, he said, "Do not mistake the blessing of God as a sign of approval. Many times He will bless you to see what you are going to do."
I don't have the answers, Pianoman...I wish I did.
But I do know that time will prove all things.

I think that God's approval comes when whatever is being said or done lines up with his word. Emotion must be taken out of the mix, because our emotions can mislead us. You can't follow your heart, because your heart can deceive you! Like Bro. Wilson said, even blessings are not necessarily a sign of approval.
We may not truly know what God approves or disapproves until judgement day. JMHO

We can know we have God's approval when we're doing what's right i.e. living in accordance with His Word, His will and His purpose.
It doesn't matter so much about our outward circumstances, because even the most Godly among us have to go through hard times and trials in life. And people looking on (like Job's comforters) could misunderstand and judge amiss.
On the other hand, people can appear to be prospering and doing well even when their lives are messed up and when their hearts, minds and souls are weighed under a heavy load of doubt, guilt, confusion and condemnation.
So if we're doing what's right and living according to God's law and will we can be assured of God's approval.

Good post. I've seen people take over churches by deception, lies and outright thievery. It may look as though God is moving but is He really? Can a church be built by men who have lied about others and stolen from them? New people who come don't know how they put themselves into power by lies and thievery but God knows. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, HE will repay and when He does I would not want to be in their shoes.
Pray for those who despitefully use you. I do. I have forgiven and moved on but I stand amazed at what people can do. They are right in their own eyes but in the eyes of God I believe that is a different story.
My post has nothing to do with Tulsa by the way.

Guess Pianoman posted while I was writing mine and we seem to be in sync pretty much in our opinion on the question.

That's the end all, be all. I've seen true people of God preach the Word, LIVE according to the Word and never have great crowds or much success by the world's standards.
On the other hand, we watched during the 80's and lately as several promiment 'preachers' who had all the outward signs of success show how personally bankrupt they really were. In God's economy there's no doubt in my mind who comes out ahead.
God's approval isn't always as evident as that of man's temporal, errant approval. That's why sometimes it's difficult to discern the two.

PM,
I agree. We can get off when we say God said this, but find no application for that direction in the Word.

True. And we will ALL stand before the Righteous Judge and give account for ourselves.
And we all desire and plan, I'm sure, to hear the words ...... "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Well spoken! Just because we know someone well, and believe they are sincere and led of God, doesn't necessarily mean that they have God's approval. They may have some men's approval which may incorrectly be percieved to mean God's approval.
