Will there be dogs in heaven??
Now, please don't laugh- this is a serious question!!
I have a Great Aunt whose dog died after 19 years...she rescued this dog before it was old enough to be weaned from his mama, and bottle fed it until it could eat food. She could never have children, so this dog was 'her baby' for 19 years...
She was crying about it and saying that she was glad she would see it in heaven. Weeelllll....some well meaning soul took it upon themselves to tell her that was not the reality of the situation, and my Great Aunt responded with this..."If there are gonna be lions and lambs up there- then I am for certain, there will be dogs. It may not be my CoCo, but if there are dogs at all, then I will be content..." !!!!!!!
Any thoughts or comments?? I had never thought about it one way or the other...
Of course, I know of at least ONE poster who would be happy if there were a few good COON dogs up there!!!

My first thought is..no dogs in heaven.
God has prepared so much better for us there than we have here.
Which brings me to this question..how good will the fishing be in heaven?

I think that if God created all of these wonderful creatures that we share earth with, and He made them sinless, then why would we assume there would be none in heaven?
I understand the theory that animals have no soul, therefore can't go to heaven. But if God thought they were good enough for earth, I'm thinking He might enjoy having some laying around the streets of gold as well. But that's just MY opinion. I guess we won't really know until we actually arrive - which I'm hoping is not right away. As much as I wantt o go there, I still love it here as well.

You answered your own question Margie.
Also i can't think of any scripture that leads me to believe animals go to heaven...but then i can't think of one that says they don't either.
So believe what makes ya happy I guess.....just don't try to say the bible says so.

I dont think there will be animals in heaven, except the four beasts that fly around the throne and the white horses we come back on. Besides, I dont think we'll be there for long, since we're coming back to earth with Jesus. I don't believe the 2nd coming is a long way off. There will be plenty of animals here for us during the 1000 yr reign.

I'm really glad there won't be any mosquitos, I've always wondered why God would create such a pest. As far as dogs go, well even though they do not have a soul, does this also mean that they do not have a spirit, since the word spirit is derived from the word breath it would make one wonder that since dogs do breath the air that God gives them. Just a thought.
