Taking a break

Folks, its been a couple days since I have posted here. I simply had my fill and it gave me indigestion.

I was considering not even visiting again, but after all, I did tell DA I would respond to his post.

There have been some good threads here, and I was glad to be a part of them. I may or may not return in the future to share in the good ones. Haven't made up my mind on that yet.

Daniel Alecia, in response to your post.

I have thought about it for several days, prayed about it, and I have decided that There is no reason to continue in that line of posting.
My whole purpose for it was to get people thinking about the gossip and rumors that were/are prevalent on so many threads here. I assumed that apostolics would not be purposefully doing such things, if they were aware that's what they were doing. I started asking questions, asking people to verify their claims, and not post unfounded rumors and speculate on "what if" negativity's, and just pure gossip.
I expected that Apostolics would check ourselves and make sure that the forum was cleaned up and gossip and rumors and bad talking of the ministry would stop, or at least slow down.
Instead, people came out of the woodwork to condemn my questioning, and make fun of my asking for verification of the claims that were being made about pastors and churches. Not only did the rumors and gossip continue/pick up but people had a problem with my pointing it out.

So, I wash my hands of it. No doubt many will have other snide remarks to say, twist what I have said, make fun of it, and continue in the same murmuring, gossiping spirits that have caused this forum be dubbed "the national enquirer for apostolics".
I'm sure there will be all kinds of justifications for it too, and condemning this post as well.

Well, have at it. I'm tired of the smell, so I am climbing out, taking off my jumpsuit, and going to higher ground.

Someone else complained about the negativity on this forum, a few of us chimed in, and we were told, "quit whining, do something about it."
Well, the admins are the ones who can really do something. As posters, all we can do really is speak out against it and pray.

Its quite obvious the folks involved don't want it to change, and will jump anyone that rocks the boat.

I may be back, I may not. But if I do return, it will be as "meBNme" not some new name. I say what I say, and I stand by it, or acknowledge the faults otherwise. So before you jump on the next newbie that comes in, it ain't me. If its me, it will be "meBNme". (that's another thing I've noticed some of you are so quick to assume and accuse of.)

To all of the 'other' posters on here.
It has been nice talking with you, and If I don't return here, I hope top see you on other forums.
Good luck with your "boat rockin"

PS.... out of courtesy and respect, I will return in a day or so to read this thread.
I don't believe in starting threads, expecting someone to read it, and never showing the consideration to read replies.

This is not a forum for those who want to start fellowship online.

You pick the good and try to diffuse the bad. Dora tells stories that are a hoot. Gabby's I have never visited, but am told that ronB was a major addition at one time. Sis Alvear has wonderful photos in the Missions Area.

There was an excellent read about Backsliders last week.

Liberals say we are not overly conservative

Conservatives say we are open to all beliefs and allow them to state what they belief.
(most liberals confess they are conservatives confusing all of us!) It is a fine line and our Admin team is split with liberals and conservatives as well to try to bring in a fine balance that sometimes is upset.

To post a "hari-cari Admins are all evil" thread means you may not understand how the forum works.

If you must go and enjoy forums, we can suggest some that are a bit more tame.

I guess I missed most of the fun you had, MBnM. I'm sorry that you feel the way you do. I know there's innuendo that gets batted around, but have you ever sat in a private preacher's fellowship, like after a camp or conference meeting. Just the "boys" sitting around and fellowshipping?

I've been there and believe me, that's where reputations and characters are not just assassinated; they're chewed up, spit out, stomped on and then rolled around in cornbread, deep fried and chewed up all over again. They've been doing that way before there was any Internet.

Frankly, I've seen more accountability here than in the living rooms of some men whose names you would know.

I'm sorry that you've chosen to do what I have found to be the typical "Apostolic" way of handling any dispute. First you stand up and tell everyone in the room that you're better than they are, and then you walk out.

You're a smart guy (I'm guessing "guy" is right), but you appear to be pretty smart. You've been around enough people and enough Apostolics to know that the idealistic veneer that we all wished were real is really just a stick-on job.

If I understood the reference you made about who your pastor is, I know that you wouldn't be welcome for long on CAF. And ironically, it was the CAF (Conservative Apostolic Forum) positions that you were trying to defend when you got into the kerfuffle you mentioned.

Your ISP service agreement says that this Internet thingy is for "entertainment purposes only." When AFF stops being fun go do World of WarCraft for a while (or something). Better yet, go to some AARP forum for Hummel figurine collectors and watch the name calling and character assassination that goes on there!

I wish you all of the best, my friend.

I'm doing World of Warcraft... I was going to wait until someone started preaching against it, but it's been out for 3 years, so I gave up waiting and started playing it anyway last week.

Sheltiedad-are you talking about a video game?

I am a little backward when it comes to the latest Video games, my children are grown and gone but they left me with a love of games. That's right I am a 56 yr. old grandma that loves to play. In fact I got a playstation 2 for mothers day several years ago. At this time I am revisiting/replaying Breath of Fire 1 on gameboy advance.

When my children were at home all the neighborhood kids came to our house, they said I was a cool mom. Now my grandchildren say I am a cool grandma.

World of Warcraft is a massive multiplayer online role playing game, one of the most popular ones. Unfortunately, it won't run on my computer and I'm too poor to upgrade. lol

I would be surprised if someone didn't preach on it... If they preach against Harry Potter, where you are reading fictional accounts of using magic, and then contrast that with World of Warcraft, where you actually have spell recipes, gather herbs, etc. to create a spell and you can actually role-play a warlock and call forth supernatural powers.

I'm finding that I level pretty quick in this game compared to others I have played, (Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot, City of Heroes).

It's probably easier to preach against a book, because you don't have to explain what a book is. lol.

Don't let the door hit ya where the Good Lord............well, you know the reast.

I'm sure you're always welcome back. Just come back with a different attitude and don't come here with an agenda of reformation; it will only frustrate you when people don't change the way you want them to.
