Shame on You, Senators
There was a classified briefing last Friday with James Clapper, Keith Alexander, and others. It was an opportunity for the 100 member Senate to listen to the spooks give their version of why they need to grab phone and internet data records, and also to ask questions and state objections.
Out of 100 Senators, only 47 made it to the hearing. The other 53 skipped it entirely to go out of town for the weekend.
Unfortunately, there's no way to know which Senators skipped out. It's a classified briefing and no info on attendance is available. I read Rand Paul was there, but he was the only one mentioned....besides Dianne Fienstein, who was rightly angry that so many Senators skipped this important meeting.
I really wish we could get the list of who didn't bother to show. They should be kicked out of the Senate. This is a hugely important issue, and for those Senators to skip it is a dereliction of their duty.
Shame on them.
