I just can't even comprehend the kind of mindset that walks into a church and judges it by where the drums are placed or what kinds of instruments are played.
CC1, you always have a way of cutting to the chase. Just wanted to mention that I appreciate that about your posts often!!

No, what I am saying is that if I want to start out, "Holy Is The Lord" with an acoustic set with maybe a guitar and snare w/brushes, and then build it up to where everyone joins in and is slamming by the bridge, that is cool, also its GREAT musicianship to have ebb & flow, but hey, have at it going 200 MHP with "He's God On The Platform" its your church, do what you think is right. But don't go calling out some fake spirit over me because I took it down a notch.

And if you think I can't get with it, have your pops throw in an old cassette tape of me from the 80's, thats right, I said it...CASSETTE TAPE, he he he!

Also, your "church" music history needs a little tweaking if you think that full force music is the ONLY way. There has been "church" music around for a lot longer than you, your pops, or myself, they wouldn't even know what we are talking about today if they heard our music.

Don't worry about me, I was enjoying steam-ahead music when you was a pipsqueak, I still love it, I also like balance. If you wanna join on the eeeevil spirit bandwagon, at least get it right....COUNTRY music is of the devil fo sho!!!!!!

And as far as your piano comments...that's EXACTLY what I am talking about, you can play it many ways...thats it's intent! So if you play a lullaby or Kirk Franklin's "Stomp"....neither is of the devil, capice?

I actually cannot believe I am having this conversation with you in 2007...weird.

Is the bass a "gentle" instrument? How about a harp?

Monkeyman can DEFINITELY ROCK THE HOUSE on the bass and vocally, too!

Nuthin' tame about him!

He also suffers greatly from low self-esteem issues. (hehehehe)

Makes great burritos!!!!

Country Gospel Music can be really awful...but there are quite a few groups who get it RIGHT! They can ROCK THE HOUSE, too -- on occasion.

I didn't get that, I got "if it ain't my style, it ain't of God", unless they have been to too many churches where the acoustic guitar players are chewing bubble gum, wearing shorts, and drinking tea...while wearing ballet slippers! (Somehow, I don't think that is the circles they run in)

But hey, I could be wrong, been wrong before.
