He and we actually, were not saying the RCC started this. We are saying the Spanish Apostolic Assemblies veil practice is a carry over from the RCC....

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

As are nearly all our doctrines "carry overs" from other denoms.

And this teaching didn't take off til the 60s.
Hoover, this is one teaching that i doubt was a carry over from the past.

Perhaps a little unrelated, I have several NorCal Mass Choir projects either on DVD or CD format. One project entitled "You Can Make It", featured a solo by Jeanette Ares. The song is "I will Lift My Voice". It features Vonnie Lopez at the close. It remains one of my favorites. Thad or anyone else, are you familiar with any of these projects? I've often wondered about the soloist on this song. Her voice is amazing. Well actually, the entire project is very good. It was produced by Aaron Lopez and Bob McKenzie. The live recording was hosted at Union City Apostolic Church, an AA Church I believe. There were many great singers featured on these projects. Chico Eddens (sp?) was the lead on many of the songs on this particular project. Was this project exlusively AA? Didn't know if NorCal Mass was comprised of several different Apostolic groups.

Nor Cal was primarily AA however there was a lot UPC people who attended and was involved- perhaps because of Vonnie's influence??
There was even some PAW folks involved too. Nor Cal was a Great music conference but disolved after Aaron and vonnie moved to Alexandria.when they returned, if memory serves me, they tried to revive it but it just never got off the ground again. AA resented involvement from the UPC and wanted it to be exclusivley an AA event. also, many of the mainstays from union city are gone including chico, V & A, the guiterriez brothers, the Meintasis family. the church is not the same as it was 10 years ago. I am not sure why

Thanks Thad. What a shame. In my opinion, the projects were well done and remain some of my personal favorites. Yes, a lot can change in ten years.
