"Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets," Obama answered sarcastically. "The nature of our military has changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have ships that go under water: nuclear submarines. The question is not a game of 'Battleship' where we're counting ships."

Please refresh my memory, but I believe that the American army in Vietnam was far more superior than the Vietcong. Did that equal victory? No. His statement sounds ominously like those made before WW1 and WW2.
I believe that many Marines, etc, aren't too impressed with his statement either. As they have been quick to point out, bayonets are still standard equipment. And I believe that for all our advanced technology, knives are still a big thing amongst special ops . . .
Obama Was Right On Navy, Says Former Navy Secretary Richard Danzig

"I thought the president's line was terrific," said Richard Danzig, who served as secretary of the Navy for two years under President Bill Clinton. "You don't measure efficacy by the number of ships. You measure it by your firepower, by the character of your people, the character of your equipment."

"The basic point that didn't get mentioned, that I would add, is the number of ships actually went down during the years of George W. Bush and have gone up in the Obama years," Danzig said. "So the notion that Republicans are more effective in building the Navy is not a correct one."

"The Navy is stronger than it's ever been," he added.

The independent fact-checking site Politifact has ranked Romney's claim that the Navy is the smallest it's been since 1917 as a "pants on fire" falsehood.

I'm not about to get back into all of these political debates, but I'll just say this. When President Bush II was in office, 7 of the 9 sitting Supreme Court justices were Republican appointed...a super majority. I don't want to hear another word about Roe v. Wade in our elections...but that's just me.
I understand your point, and tend to agree. The problem is that our country is so evenly divided that very little of substance gets done. The justices have to be vetted by both parties until they are unable to make decisions free of political pressure. So, we are left with having leadership that is watered down, which actually reflects the country at large. So neither side is actually ever happy with those that are in government.

In spite of all that I still try to vote for the best choice, rather that opting out of the process.

I have explained this many times to you. Why you characterize me as a simpleton who only wants to win is beyond me.
I also started out supporting Gov. Perry and when he dropped out, it took me a couple of weeks or so to study more in depth on Gingrich, who I found to be more patriotic and upfront than I knew at the beginning.

When he dropped out, and after a deeper in depth study on Romney, I could never have stood behind him, posting upwards of 40 or more threads appearing to be giddily, happy that he would win by a landslide. Knowing him and his record, how could I really care?

If the country was at such a risk of danger from Obama and his EO's (which incidentally, can be challenged within 30 days) was paramount, I wonder that the GOP would choose Romney. And I wonder why the Republicans wouldn't fight him harder than they did the first term. Gingrich shut down the government to challenge Clinton. Boehner and the Republicans barely caused a blip. So, you tell me how much danger we are in.

So, no, I would never present myself as running after this candidate, Romney, in full support of a win.

Of course this guy is a Demo, that will parrot the Demo line.
Fact is: Romney is not Bush, so enough with blaming or excusing because of what Bush did, or not.
Romney knows that the oceans haven't gotten smaller, and that the number of ships is important due to the number of possible hotspots at any given time. And he believes we need more ships, his belief, period!!

His facts were awarded a Pants on Fire. Facts don't seem to be important concerning this Republican candidate.

Romney says federal regulations quadrupled under Obama

"Regulations have quadrupled. The rate of regulations quadrupled under this president."

I have been fact checking the GOP and it's candidate. Two reasons. Romney claims to be a "severe' conservative and I am really sick and tired of the fear mongering coming from Fox News and the RNC pundits.

Exclamation Re: 3rd Presidential Debate Tonight 9pm EST!!!!

Whether this video is really a Illuminati training video, or if it is a made-up parody, I am not sure.

Even IF it is a made-up parody, they made it fairly realistic as to how the Illuminati controls stuff.

(of course the Illuminati does not openly recognize that there is a genuine Church and that the real Church is against them, of course the ultimate leader of the Illuminati - Satan - (known to them as "Lucifer") does know there is indeed a real Church, even though he has deceived his followers that he himself is the "good guy")

IllumiCorp - Illuminati training video (supposedly)

- US Navy Admiral Chester Ward

"The Council on Foreign Relations is the American branch of a society which originated in England... (and) ...believes national boundaries should be obliterated and one world rule established."
- Carroll Quigley (Bill Clinton's Georgetown mentor)

"In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn't such a great idea after all."
- Strobe Talbot, President Clinton's Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.

"We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order. "
- David Rockefeller

"We are grateful to the Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries."
- David Rockefeller, Baden-Baden, Germany 1991

"We will have a world government whether you like it or not. The only question is whether that government will be achieved by conquest or consent."
- Banker Paul Warburg, February 17, 1950, as he testified before the U.S. Senate

"To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas".
- Brock Chisolm, former Director of the (WHO) World Health Organization

"Let me control a peoples currency and I care not who makes their laws."
- Meyer Nathaniel Rothschild in a speech to a gathering of world bankers February 12, 1912. (The following year, the USA subscribed to the 'services' of the newly incorporated Federal Reserve, headed by Mr. Rothschild.)

"The real menace of our republic is this invisible government which like a giant octopus sprawls its slimy length over city, state and nation. Like the octopus of real life, it operates under cover of a self created screen....At the head of this octopus are the Rockefeller Standard Oil interests and a small group of powerful banking houses generally referred to as international bankers. The little coterie of powerful international bankers virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both political parties."
- New York City Mayor John F. Hylan, 1922

"The depression was the calculated 'shearing' of the public by the World Money powers, triggered by the planned sudden shortage of supply of call money in the New York money market....The One World Government leaders and their ever close bankers have now acquired full control of the money and credit machinery of the U.S. via the creation of the privately owned Federal Reserve Bank."
- Curtis Dall, FDR's son-in-law as quoted in his book, My Exploited Father-in-Law

"Today the path of total dictatorship in the United States can be laid by strictly legal means, unseen and unheard by... the people. Outwardly we have a Constitutional government. We have operating within our government and political system, another body representing another form of government - a bureaucratic elite." - Senator William Jenner, 1954

"The Trilateral Commission is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of the commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. The Trilateral Commission represents a skillful, coordinated effort to seize control and consolidate the four centers of power political, monetary, intellectual and ecclesiastical. What the Trilateral Commission intends is to create a worldwide economic power superior to the political governments of the nationstates involved. As managers and creators of the system, they will rule the future."
- U.S. Senator Barry Goldwater in his l964 book: With No Apologies.

"Our job is to give people not what they want, but what we decide they ought to have."
- Richard Salent, former president, CBS News

"There is no such thing as an independent press in America, unless it is in the country towns. You know it and I know it. There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. If I should permit honest opinions to be printed in one issue of my paper, like Othello, before twenty-four hours, my occupation would be gone. The business of the New York journalist is to destroy truth; to lie outright; to pervert; to vilify, to fawn at the feet of Mammon; to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. We are the tools and vessels for rich men behind the scenes. We are intellectual prostitutes."
- John Swinton, past editor of the New York Tribune.

"Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government."
- Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991

"No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation."
- David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations
