Re: Worst Christmas Present?

The first gift my husband gave me was a watch. For a wedding present he gave me another watch- albeit an antique diamond watch - My first birthday together he gave me another watch- I could see he was having problems in the gift department. So for our first Christmas together I thought I would help him out- I told him I could use some perfume- gave him the name of it and where he could buy it- But I told him I wanted a surprise gift, also. He went shopping and came home with two gift wrapped gifts- I unwrapped the first it was a bottle of my cologne- then I unwrapped the other one - another bottle of cologne!!!!! I gave up then - I shop for my own gifts now!

Re: Worst Christmas Present?

Some may think this is a weird gift, but I told my wife all I really want for Christmas is a compass for my truck!

Re: Worst Christmas Present?

Hmmm....my Mom and my sister talked us all into no gift giving for extended family this year. Then, my Mom and Dad went to my sister's for Christmas. My Mom sent a note out to her extended family and us and it said "We did this.....and then opened gifts and then we did this"....

If they exchanged gifts I am going to be ticked!!!!

Re: Worst Christmas Present?

Well, not exactly a Christmas present... but it happened around Christmas time. We had an ice storm - it was really bad.

One of the nieghbors to a rental house of mine called and said he was worried that a big tree (on my property) was going to drop limbs on his home. He said, "I am having the tree guys come out and trim my other trees, will it be OK with you if I have them whack a couple on that tree too?" I said "sure".

The next week they sent me a bill for $1100.00 for the "work" I "ordered".

Re: Worst Christmas Present?

We all take turns hosting holiday family gatherings at our homes. Only one year did I ever volunteer to host the Christmas Gathering for my brothers, sisters and parents.

That morning I woke up vomitting, fever, and the whole nine-yards. AND so did Walt!!

Christmas quickly got moved.

That wasn't a Christmas gift, but it WAS my worst Christmas ever.

$1100.00!!!

We had a couple of trees cut down and removed and it was about $250.00 for two of them.

Even so....nice neighbor you have there.

I let him know I thought he would have ZERO standing in court. In no way did I imply I was paying anything. Instead of triming a few limbs they trimmed the whole tree (as he watched). Also the bill included the other limbs he had cut. I ended up paying 650. of it - but ONLY because we live in a small town and I did not want to be in the papers and court. He was wrong and I told him so.

BTW he suddenly claimed he had a "witness" his "live-in" who could "verify" I offered to pay... LOL!

Maybe you should offer to have some yard work done for him too.

Re: Worst Christmas Present?

It's not the WORST gift ever, but one of my presents this year, from an un-named family member, was a bunch of stationary... I NEVER write letters, and if I did, everyone who knows me, knows my penmanship is on the same level as a doctor... pretty much unintelligible!

Oh my gosh - I LOVE stationary!!!!!! Put it aside and wrap it for someone's birthday. Just make a note who gave it to you so you won't give it back to the same person!
