If asked, all Pentecostals would say they believe in divine healing. That answer would come without a moment’s hesitation or thought. It is a part of the doctrine our faith is built upon. However, even though it has been historically part of our belief system, most people have difficulty bringing their faith into the present for our needs today.
There are many reasons for this problem. Perhaps it is because with modern medicine we have been conditioned to consider the options available before turning to the Lord. We know God can heal. We know God has healed. We know God does heal. However, the difficulty comes when we need faith for healing today.
We must fully believe that Jesus placed healing in the church today. If God’s power is available at all, it is available to heal. Faith for healing needs to be restored to the church more than ever before. Miracles of healing are a part of God’s way of propagating the gospel. Jesus had a crowd to teach to and to preach to because of miracles. A revival of miracles in the church today will have the same effect in our generation. I know this is true because it has happened in our church.

Consider this:
Salvation and the forgiveness of sins: When one has a sin issue in their life we know that no one can take care of the sin but Jesus. We are totally dependent upon Jesus (work of the cross) for our redemption. We have this revelation so we turn to Jesus and if we come across anyone we point them to Jesus.
Healing: When it comes to healing we have options. We don't totally rely on Jesus even though, according to scripture, he bore sickness and disease so that we would not have to. When a headache comes we turn to Tylenol. When something sickness comes on us, we may pray but we also seek the help of vitamins, medicines, and doctors. In other words the same work that was accomplished at Calvary does not carry the same weight because we do not have the same revelation that Jesus has all the answers. There are other options we must consider.
Finances: When it comes to lack and poverty, another issue Jesus took care of we really have a struggle because we have preferences. We have more options. Just look at the threads on the tithe and how many and made it some options feel good thing. We have no problem sending our money to Master Card, but struggle giving it our Master Jesus. Because we have so many options we rarely turn to Jesus.
Conclusion: The more options we have the less power we see. Jesus is Lord, but that means supreme over all of our life. We don't allow Him to be Lord in the matters of health because we have too much wisdom, therefore we seek the advise of the medical professionals.
