How to Make Paint From Berries
Ingredients:
1 cup berries (fresh or frozen)
1 cup cornstarch
Water
Bar of soap (without dye or fragrance)
Grater
1. Make the colorant. Thaw frozen berries in a colander over a bowl or simmer fresh berries in 1 cup of water for 30 minutes.
2. Strain the berries. Keep the liquid and reserve the berries for another use.
3. Grate the bar of soap to achieve 1/3 cup of soap flakes.
4. Put the soap flakes in a bowl and pour 1/2 cup of boiling water over them. Stir the mixture until the flakes dissolve.
5. Combine cornstarch with 1/2 cup of water to make a paste. Stir the paste into the soap mixture.
6. Add berry juice until desired color is achieved.
Caution: Berry juice may stain clothing and countertops. Protect clothing and surfaces and have tools on hand to clean up any messes.
