Re: PAJC- THIEVES, LIARS, and HYPOCRITES
Mr. Mastermind is on to something.
We must be wary of any movement that suppresses the truth about its past. That type of behavior is typical of cults.

All right Prax, you wanted proof.
Exhibit A
Keith McCan
Revisionists state the merger was a mistake, Goss et all lead people to hell, and anyone who even acknowledges PCI doctrine MIGHT be worth looking at will be banned for life.

Re: PAJC- THIEVES, LIARS, and HYPOCRITES
Good grief. Thomas Fudge spent a lot of money and time interviewing many people that were at the merger. Its all documented. Its a scholarly piece. You all act like this is an episode of "Perry Mason" with all your legal mumbo-jumbo. Read the book "Christianity Without the Cross". The facts are well documented there. I believe most of the key players in the merger believed they were all brothers. The movement to muscle "salvation by grace through faith" types emerged some time later. I don't believe the merger began with a conspiracy. If I recall Fudge's book this is what was documented. The animous developed later.

J.L Hall, J.R. Ensey, N.A. Urshan was a huge one while still alive. Larry Booker, though he of course wasn't happy with the "slow pace" of the UPC.
DKB is too much of a circumspect political animal to come right out and say what he's thinking on every issue. He maintains the "revisionist" appearance, but a careful reading of his material (coupled with asking him some question right to his face) will actually reveal that he isn't providing any scholarly framework to prop up the old "NA Urshan" way of doing things.

Exactly. If you need a copy there are evaluation copies floating around for free. A "limited preview" of "Christianity Without the Cross" is available here: http://tinyurl.com/46tohez
Because we are discussing something that already has an extensive scholarly treatment, it's kind of silly to keep demanding footnotes.
Now, concerning the charge of "revisionism" - Why was this article by PCI co-founder John H. Dearing removed from the required reading material for ALL UPCI MINISTERS? (See attachment).
This article obviously opens up the possibility of salvation for those who did not "Obey Acts 2:38®." Dearing had to be silenced.

That is an excellent article. Is there more of it elsewhere?

Re: PAJC- THIEVES, LIARS, and HYPOCRITES
One old vestige of the PCI that remains (for now) is the "Repentance and Conversion" section in the UPCI Manual and the Article of Faith. It's interesting, even though you can affirm this statement right from the Manual and the AoF - you'll be in big trouble for doing so. I wonder how long this section will remain unrevised.
*** I took a "snapshot" of this from Sarge's website ( www.spiritualabuse.org) and this photo is from the 1952 UPCI Manual. The most recent Manual I have laying around the house right now is from the mid 1990's and the wording is still identical. I am currently reduced to typing with just one hand at the moment so I took this "short cut" of copying from Sarge's website.

Closer to home it is the viewpoint touted by Ron Wofford, and is the majority view on AMF.
They hold the merger should never have happened and that the PCI were lost heretics, and the ONLY purpose of the unity clause was to give them time to come around.
IF so that would make PAJC brethren thieves and liars. Only conclusion possible from Revisionist history.
However, as previously stated, I do not believe that to be the case, and even the PAJC three steppers involved in the merger, did not consider their PCI brethren to be lost.

Interesting you should say that I understand that is exactly what got Keith banned.
He affirmed the AoF and was banned anyway, even though the dog pack recognized he was right on that point.
Serious issues going on in the ultracon camp.

This comes from the old Pentecostal Home Study Course - that big 3-Ring binder of 250 Bible Lessons that everyone had to read to qualify for a Local License back from the the time of the merger up until the late 1980s.
You'll have to find an old copy from the library of some aged elder. This old copy had 100 Lessons by a PAJC writer, 100 Lessons by a PCI writer and 50 additional "up-to-date" studies that were added.
The current version - which is no longer "Required Reading" deletes all of the PCI material - written by John H. Dearing and adds 100 other Lessons so that the title didn't have to be changed and drawn unwanted attention.
I worked at World Evangelism Center and the Pentecostal Publishing House at the time that the older version was still being printed.
