Sure if you can read my mind and know what's in my heart.

Yeah, I've pretty much avoided that thread...

So were you being TIC?

Do you still feel led to pray for someone that has variances in their dress from what your comfortable with?

I mean, praying for someone is a beautiful thing. It's what is motivating our prayers that I'm challenging. Not judging you.... sheesh.

Re: Modesty and The Christian Woman.

Some believe we won't know of our eternal fate until Judgement Day.

Do you all believe that?

Do you believe that "give account" is the same as "be eternally judged?"

Is God not faithful in His promises? What is grace? I think the way we respond to this question will vary according to how one views grace.

Personally, though I am sober that I will give account, I believe one can be fully convinced and assured that they are His.

sometimes, there are women in my church who wear things I would not wear. But I'm not asking God to make them like me. I pray for God to help them grow and mature as Christians.

KNowing our motives is important. Do you ever pray for faults you see in others, that they might overcome them? Does that make me a self righteous Pharisee? James 5:16

I guess I don't see a gal exposing her knees as a fault.

James 5:16 is about being open and honest with each other. It's one coming to you for help, and praying with and for them. Not looking at others and making judgements that they are spiritually immature because they don't dress like you, and then feeling "led" to pray that they can be more mature (as you are). Maybe if we felt the clothing was specifically connected to a heart issue. For instance, I know a girl that is struggling for attention. She wears provocative clothing. She has had multiple poor relationships and can't figure out why. Instead of praying for her clothing, I'm praying constantly that she would find her identity in God and know that He is more glorious than any friends, guys or the approval of anyone else. That standing those people next to Jesus would help her with her perspective. Her clothing, which was provactively over-the-top, was an accessory to her heart issue, and was accompanied by provacative gestures, body language, conversation, etc.

Praying like that also helps me. Instead of seeing how much better I am at dressing than her, I see in my own life areas where God can be more glorious.

Just so I understand the dynamic, if she was in a bikini by the pool with another woman she would be a lesbian?
