What is with all the NEGATIVE threads that edify no one, especially not GOD?
Remember Him? The God that supposedly all of us serve whether we be UPC, Independent, or a part of any other Apostolic organization? Whether we agree on every issue or not, supposedly we all have the same goal??? Or do we?
This is supposed to be Apostolic FRIENDS Forum. FRIENDS is highly questionable these days.
There are forum rules for everyone to read and in my personal opinion, they are being VIOLATED continously.
I have contacted one admin by PM and shared how disturbed I was by the turn this forum has taken. It didn't use to be this way.
Beliefs and practices have always been "discussed" but it used to be done RESPECTFULLY, as FRIENDS!
How hard is it to understand that when you MOCK and make fun of an organizations beliefs and practices, you are also MOCKING and making fun of those individuals within that organization?
It used to be that STANDARDS were the only thing that sometimes slipped from the "discussion" category into the "mockery" category. But not anymore.
Everything is fair game now. Everything from praise and worship to doctrinal/salvational issues.
The MOCKERY of things that individuals hold near and dear is NEVER acceptable. Whether we agree or not is NEVER an excuse to have a "free for all bash session" of a particular group or organization. You aren't just bashing the group, you are bashing INDIVIDUALS in that group!
How about some threads that are actually POSITIVE? Something that EDIFIES? Something that gives GLORY TO GOD?
I don't get to be on this forum very much these days. But when I am here, I don't care to read about how ignorant, stupid, ridiculous, outrageous, and "cultish" my beliefs and practices are!
Lately, I've posted POSITIVE things about what GOD is doing at my church. I've done this in response to some very negative comments. What would this forum be like if we all started posting about POSITIVE things that God is doing in our lives, in our churches, in our families, in our areas of ministry, etc.?
I'm sure there will be the typical response from some now...I can hear the comments cause I know what has become the norm on this forum.
Some will say, "Didn't you just start a negative thread?, Aren't you bashing people too?, How is this thread edifying?, Didn't you just break forum rules too?"
Yes, I guess I did. Yes, I guess I am. This thread can be edifying, depending on the response to it. And finally, YES, I did just break forum rules, just like many of you, to make a point, to spill my guts. For whatever good it will do.

I read other areas than FH which gives a broader look of AFF.
