What is it about John Hagee that so many of you have a problem with? I don't watch TV preachers, but I have several friends who seem to like him.
Can someone give me some insight as to why you are so shocked that Global is having him?
Thanks!

He is SO right-wing he should just move to Montana and join a militia group, he is SO pro-Israel that he might as well write his own bible because he's wrecking the one he uses, and he's so prosperity that....well, you only have to be a little prosperity to be nuts.
Add to that, pompous, condescending....
Good-bye Global. I would never be associated with a group that would use, and thereby, endorse him.

Ooooooookay..... so why don't you tell us how you really feel!
Having never heard him, I can't really expound on any point you made, but "pro-Israel" is a problem?
I will say that I asked of my friends about him and one of them particularly indicated that he wasn't as "prosperity" as some of the other popular preachers (Copeland, etc). In fact, didn't even consider Hagee a "prosperity" preacher. (Maybe I misunderstood him - ??? )
Hmm-m-m-m pompous, condescending.... maybe I'll have to find a way to watch him so I can form my own opinions.

He's not as "Prosperity" as Creflo Dollar, that's for sure. But like I said, you only have to be a little bit to be nuts. Honestly, I've not listened to him a whole lot. I just can't take it. But he certainly uses prosperity lingo and for certain, aligns himself with that group. He is, without a doubt, a "Word of Faith" preacher.
He's WAY more than just "Pro-Israel." He has developed an entire eschatology on his views and seriously, it's so confusing and radical, I couldn't even begin to describe it here. I'll I could do is recommend that you goggle it and read some of the hooey yourself.
But it's his political activism that bothers me most. He worships the Republican Party almost as much as he worships Jesus.

Do you watch him regularly?
I've watched him enough. I usually can't stick around longer than the first 5 minutes -- just enough to get to his anticipated joke line
Self-centered Gospel.
Pop Psychology Gospel.
Not all he teaches is wrong per se, it's just severely lacking IMO -- which leads me to disagree with the whole premise of the Gospel as he teaches it.
Between him and Haggee, definitely surprised this is who Global is making their spokesperson.

Uhhh....I don't think GNCM is making anyone their spokesperson, other than Scott Jones, the leader. Just because you have someone come in and speak, does that make them a spokesperson for your group?
POA has had John Maxwell in (as well as others). They don't even think he's saved!! Just because LS has spoken at several UPC things, I sure don't consider him their spokesperson.

I think speakers at General Conference-type meetings speak volumes about an organization. POA having Maxwell come teach on leadership for some special local church session is much different than a national general conference meeting.
I'll give them the benefit of the doubt with JO. Still not thrilled about it. They have enough well-qualified speakers that are members of Global that could speak.

I agree. I'm not an Osteen fan particularly, but I can tolerate him. I really have not listened to Hagee much or read any of his stuff, so I can't speak about him. I guess they are just bringing in guys who can inspire church growth. They have both definitely mastered that aspect of the Kingdom.

Well, whether you agree with them or not, I do believe they are working for the Kingdom of God. I believe they are both Christian men, even if I don't agree with all their ideas and doctrines. I certainly don't think they're working for the other kingdom.
