My Dad used to tell us this story all the time. My Grandpa got my Grandma a gift one year for Christmas and was bragging that no one would ever guess what it was. Just joking around, my Grandma guessed a golden toothpick. Everyone starting laughing because of how ridiculous that was. My Grandpa got real red in the face. Guess what it was? Yep.
Oh, man! That's amazing! My son guessed a gift once, that really blew us away, too. Picked up the box, kinda square, about 5x5x5" or so. Thought about it for a second, and said "hockey puck?" Dropped jaws, all around!

Only my oldest daughter works, so I still pretty much just buy what I need and want as I go along...I don't expect gifts. While Christmas shopping this year, I've bought myself things.. I am not putting them under the tree, I'm already wearing them, using them. lol I bought myself a new candle last night.
I'm really independent on things like that. I actually like to shop and buy for myself. Probably the best presents for me at this point in my life is giftcards or doing something for me. I don't have a sentimental bone in my body, and gifts is not my love language at all.
However, someday.... a diamond ring could and would really make my day and year!!!
I ran into a gift shop yesterday and found the most excellent candles from a company in Comfort, Texas. Just beautiful and excellent. No color and sold in a nice chocolate brown box. The label graphics were great! Loved them!

Uh-oh, nope! I asked for this present first, ForeverBlessed! If you find a man under your tree this Christmas, Santa mis-delivered!! The tag will say, "to Mary" So if he's nice you'll have to send him my way!!
You are reminding me of when my daughter wanted a ten-speed when she was too young to ride one! I said, "You better ask God. He will give you a bike faster than your father will." The next day a women in our church called and said she had a ten-speed in her garage and did I want to give it to my daughter? LOL!! God is awesome like that. I think that He wanted to honor that I directed my children to ask anything in His name!!
One night she prayed that God would send her a puppy. The VERY next morning a puppy was on our front porch. We named him Zachary. LOL! He later got run over on the highway - right before we moved and couldn't take him with us. It would have been worse to give him away!!!
