I'm not saying they're the same, I'm saying that if they are going to mandate health care coverage, something will have to be done to lower the premiums immediately. Otherwise, people will not be able to afford it.

Esther, he can't do that. Nobody can do that. What he can do is get rid of how we are covered strictly by the private industry by subsidization. That gives you options... buy it on your own... get it through your employer... or sign up for the subsidized policy like the one your congressman holds. Geesh. lol
Are you paying attention to anything? NO they want to eliminate ALL private health insurance. They said it would take some time, but that is their GOAL!
Esther, the insurance companies are a billion dollar industry... think about it... we will be more like France and Germany, having a mixed system of private and subsidized insurance.
Actually when HMO's came out. We had a lawyer from church run one that sold for 300 million dollars. They got a law that required companies to offer a HMO as an alternaitive for health insurance. So Our neighbor could have her reps go into a company and "mandate" they get a HMO. In the early years, there was often only one HMO in most markets.
Government control. With a mandated Health I d card, they can track who has let a policy lapse by reason of being laid off or having no money.
The government is incredibly inefficient. When they get in farther, costs of running a bloated beaureaucracy will drive up expenses.
Government is not for profit and have no incentives for efficiency. Under the plan, your insurance would be added to your husbands and it will cut takehome pay.

You were wrong. Car insurance and mdical insurance are the same types of insurance. Both use actuaries and tables for risks and claims. Fortunately I am very familiar with how insurance companies work. I can audit their annual reports.

For example, there was a bill for war funding that the Democrats didn't support. These false profit$ of talk radio claimed that Democrats were against funding the troops. If you read what happened on the flood you'd know that the Democrats voted against it because of the pork attached to it, they pleaded that the Republicans have some decency and pass a war funding bill without all their pork projects attached. Again, lies and misinformation.

Sis... it will be contracted with private companies. If you want to sign up for the government subsidized policy you'll sign onto a plan that has a premium set by contract based on the government's purchasing and bargaining power. By the way... UHC is one company looking forward to this, they stand to make far more than they are now.

Liar, liar. LOL Get the facts. That can't happen. It's merely government subsidization of private plans negotiated for the American people through a private health insurance company.
