Let's keep it civil. Name calling is unacceptable. This should be enough said.

Honestly, I'm not connecting the accusation to what he called me. Please enlighten me.

Your beliefs are systematically destroying any shred of confidence anyone could possibly have in the Apostolic church.

While not bragging, I'd love for you to walk a week with me. I'd do the same with you. I think you'd find we are both doing the work of the Lord, just in different ways. Some of mine you wouldn't agree with, some of yours I wouldn't. You'd also meet some folks -- some who have obeyed the Gospel, some who have not (but I believe eventually will) -- that would give you cause to retract your statement I've highlighted above.

That's when you started to spout off all sorts of divisive comments regarding the UPCI.
|
Sorry, friend, but you've got me confused with someone else. I have no allegiance to or angst against the UPCI. My pastor has been a district official for 12 years. Our local assembly is a UPC. I attend La. District UPC men's conferences, camp meetings and numerous rallies. I don't like what I see in the UPCI at this time, but I have NEVER posted a divisive comment, especially about the Nix situation. I merely gave my very limited opinion of it based on what I had the opportunity to read from a few men who are directly involved (including the Nix family). Out of respect for the administration, I won't reply to another post on that subject.

You are not lily white and cyrstal clean pal. Now you comment on the need for unity? I'm not buying your kool aid.

If you can show me one comment where I said I was "lily white and cyrstal clean" or selling kool aid, I'll drink it myself......pal.
But, it doesn't take a spiritual genius to see the problem of disunity caused by some posters here.

The play on "a bit" was not about your post, CS. It was more tic, I guess. I didn't mean to insinuate that you were minimizing his post, if that's what you thought.

No problems.
Brother, PP is a good guy. I know him in real life.
We all bring certain things to the table from our past experience, and it is easy to think the view through our narrow window to the world is representative of a broader cross-section than it is.
One of the things I appreciate about PP is his passion and forthrightness.
Of course, these things can also become a bit abrasive at times...but we've all been there, or at least I have.
I can deal with someone who has strong zeal, even if I disagree with them on some things.
It's the mealy-mouthed mushbuckets who seem to have no strong feelings about anything that give me the dry gripes.

PP,
You are posting with your "inner voice" again!!! Those type things are fine to think but should not be posted.
Keep your credibility by taking your thoughts and editing them before writing them!!
I know my ultra con brethern on here would sometimes love to "rip me a new one" as they say but I am grateful they keep the discourse civil and we need to do the same.

I don't know him either. Have no clue who he is.
But I would caution you against making too many judgments about anybody based solely on how and what they post on a message board.
If I didn't know you in real life, and just saw this post, the impression I would get of you would be far from the actual reality.
So cool your jets just a tad.

Here's the deal.
When a poster, or group of posters, consistently harp against me on a PERSONAL level, I take it personally. When a particular poster consistently insults me and my intelligence, as well as my committment to God, I will respond.
Especially when that poster has shown a predisposition to waffle like a flag in the wind in regards to civility and unity. Very, very rarely do I communicate at the level I did this morning. I think my record speaks for itself.
So while you all ask me to cool my jets, perhaps it would be beneficial to review the full body of OGIA's posts over the past while. He consistently accuses posters of lying, misrepresenting facts, and misleading souls on purpose.
That is inexusable. I chose to call him on it.

Again, if you don't like the divisiveness here, go ahead and leave permanently. Until then your incessant whining is annoying and fruitless. This is AFF. We disagree with each other a lot. Its what we do. Its who we are.
Furthermore, don't use the word "friend" when you obviously don't mean it.
It bleeds through as insincere and patronizing.
