Now that's funny! Thirty plus years ago when my brother got out of the army he lived at home for about a year. He planted a few marijuana plants in my dad's flower garden. All summer my mother kept asking what those were.
I don't think they ever knew.

It was really funny since I knew before hand it was gonna happen, just not really sure what time. And of all things it was on a Friday night here in Texas, and of course Friday night high school football time. There were cops everywhere. It happened right down the street from our house. What is really stupid is they had people driving up to buy and the people that lived there had to have seen the cops but just drove right up into their driveway, so funny. And they even had some growing in their bedroom, and the lady told the cops she didn't know it was there.........LOL One of her kids had been staying with us because he didn't want to go to jail. He and one of his friends turned them in.

So you take the ferry to Juneau to catch a plane right? And then fly to some part of the mainland to get a connecting flight to Texas?

I can't WAIT for garden stuff to come in. I want to try deep fried squash blossoms filled with "doctored up" cream cheese. Anyone ever had this?

I haven't tried them but they sound like they would be yummy. Now, you have to share the recipe.

Re: Garden Fresh Vegetables
I'll be happy to as soon as I figure out the BEST way to do it! I tried deep frying spinach last weekend and mine wasn't as good as the Sunflower Bistro in Brookfield, IL. LOL IMAGINE THAT!
I think we have to deep fry them in peanut oil because even canola oil made the spinach leaves....heavy. Anyway, I'll get the "filling" recipe from my cousin. We are going to use the same recipe she uses for pepper poppers.
From what I understand you just GENTLY rinse and dry the blossoms, use a disposable bag to fill them and then pinch the ends together and deep fry. I guess if you wanted to add that SOUTHERN touch you could roll them in flower or cornmeal.
I'll let you know how they turn out!

We can fly from here if the weather is good to Juneau. Then we go from Juneau to Seattle to make connection to our destination to the lower 48.
We will discuss this further over the phone maybe.

That is the best way. Eat a tomato as you would an apple. We use no pesticides. But we do have to shoot some varmints.
