Re: Micky Mangun Criticized 4 singing of Natl. Ant
Ok...I did only got to like page three and then had to comment. You folks...not all just the complainers....sound like a bunch of old women sitting around trying to find something to tear apart. It is really gross they way that happens.... Sis. Mikey Mangun is one of the most anointed, gifted singers in our ranks. She has a style all her own, very distinctive! I personally love her singing. She is, next to my wife, one of my all time favorite singers. Not just her ability, but her passion!
Maybe I am the minority here, but I liked the way she juiced it up a little. I think she was trying to make a point on the 'free' part. I liked it. But, I am not all that traditional......
Come on folks....get out to the rocking chairs and stop all the tearing things down. God really doesn't like that you know! I get so sick of reading it too!

Huh? Most of the people here like MM, and are only too ready to defend her. Did you confuse us with the YouTube comments?

Better read again with your spectacles on, then--there were only a couple of negative comments--the rest were positive and in defense of our beloved Mickey!

Re: Micky Mangun Criticized 4 singing of Natl. Ant
Ummm, where is the controversy??
Did someone complain, Secretwarrior? What was said?
What was the controversy about? "Freeeeeeeee... freeeeeeeeee... freeeeeee yeah yayeeeeaaaah"? Or was it the bombs bursting in hair?
I read the comments on youtube, the critic was cursing at Pentecostals, I think I get it. Hmmmm....something else at work here for sure, Lord help him.
Um.
Who criticized her, what was said, and how was it controversial? LOL!!!! This video is NOT self-explanatory, so you kind of need to explain yourself SW!!!!!
Read the you tube comments
Oh, I got it, okay.
Well, I see that a couple of folks were criticizing, and mostly she is being defended.
The comments read more like "Jealous, Bitter & Washed Up needlessly criticizes more successful singer" than anything else. And there are way more defenses than criticism.
I wouldn't say it has stirred up controversy. Just one little, tiny person spewing forth the vomit that comprises his/her heart. What's down in the well comes up in the bucke
It can be hard to sing outdoors if the air is dry.
I wonder if she was able to pick the key that the orchestra played in or had to sing in whatever key they chose ?? That would interesting to know.
Ok.......... that is every post from page one... JR show me where one of our posters criticized her??????

Re: Micky Mangun Criticized 4 singing of Natl. Ant
I thought they were very disrespectful- they could have stated their opinion without being ugly. someone is definitley bitter towards Pentecostals. You think maybe they are a member of ExPentecostals.com?
Of course! You can say: "I think that could have been done differently" or "I wish she had stuck to the more traditional version" without being mean.
Vocally speaking, MM is definitely not perfect, but I still love to hear her sing, mistakes and all!!!
Also, some vocalists do not record well (live), but when you are actually present it may sound a lot different--and feel a lot different.
I went to great lengths to encode video here so we would not have to dig around in buckets of vomit. Many comments of YouTube videos are unclean at best.
Seems some enjoy throwing muck around more than others. ...
I think You tube needs to disable comments on thier video to keep garbage comments out.
Sad that some people have to resort to vulgar language to comment on a video on you tube.
That being said, I ain't American so I could care less how you guys sing it.
I am old fashioned though, I personally dislike changingin the wording (repeating) or style
of national Anthems.
Mickey still is a great singer!
Stress, age, hormonal changes, health issues, will take an entire step(or more!)off your range. It's hard to lower the key in the National A. simply because it starts so low.
So this is what happened to my voice!?
HOw am i suppose to know??? post a before an after video
I don't think it was controversial...rather than people think she "butchered" it. Granted...the finale was less to be desired, but that does not take away from the person she is OR the song deemed to be controversial. Hardly controversial.
No need to get huffy about it
That's Terri!!!
I am only commenting that I don't think it was controversial
Hmmm Now I am thru page 2 and still dont see nothing
Dude Jr person... this isnt that other forum.. everyone here is not out to get someone else... we all pretty much said we liked or loved her singing and that it wasnt necessary what was said in the comments on youtube.. think you need to get a new set of glasses or something... get over it! We are all on the same page

I can't even imagine the pressure someone would feel at such an event...MY Blessings to her.
