The Singing Parkers
Today I was listening to an Andrae Crouch cd and I thought about a group I heard back in the nineteen seventies. I think they were called the Singing Parkers. There were two brothers and a sister if I remember correctly. One of the sisters names was Sally. They sang at a UPC church here in Cincinnati and i think also at our ALJC church. Later they came to our ALJC church with a choir from Gateway College. I think one of them married someone named Tim Ayres and one married Mike Hayes. It seems that I have heard that one of them is dead.
Any current information on the folks in this group?
And is any of their old music available?
I guess that was back far enough that there would only be records and maybe tapes.
A couple of songs I remember are: "I'm a Believer" and "I've God Confidence."

Sally Parker Ayers was one of the great belters. She's the soloist on Wilderness, I Thank You Lord, and Already Been to the Water from the early 70's Gateway Sounds albums, when Lanny Wolfe was at Gateway. The four Singing Parkers albums are available on one CD from Covenant Church.

Do you know where I can find the song Heaven, Heaven, so much talk about Heaven, that Sally Parker did with the Gateway choir? I have heard so much talk about her and her voice, my mom said that she really tore that song up.

Re: The Singing Parkers
Joe Parker pastors a church in Texas now. They were awesome. Joe has a tremendous voice still. They pastored here in Federal Way Washington for several years until moving to Idaho for a few years to pastor and then to Texas.
Look up Cowboy Church Joe Parker. You might find him and also he's on Facebook.
