I suppose that you skipped the part where I said "And, I am not trying to claim that we are the only Pentecostals in the city."???

I don't know who you are, but I am going to ask that you not put words in my mouth. I put them there for myself, and the above quote is exactly what I posted.

Well said, Mrs LPW
You've pretty much said what I've said for many years: If you really think about it, Oneness Pentecostals are the only "true" Pentecostals.

Pentecostals are those who believe and practice what was believed and practiced on the Day of Pentecost. On the day of Pentecost the apostles baptized in Jesus' name, and did not even know what a Trinity was.

Therefore, pseudo-Pentecostal churches like the AG, etc, who teach trinity and don't baptize in Jesus name, are not teaching day-of-Pentecost doctrine.

Thus indeed, we Apostolics are the only true Pentecostals. Plain and simple.

My point is that "Assemblies of God" could be taken the same way as "Pentecostals of... " names...
And it's silly to pick at people...

And my honest question... would you pick if it were an Assemblies church who had named their's as such.
I would "pick" more!!

There are 47 verses in Acts chapter 2. Paul never mentioned water baptism once during his sermon in verses 14-36. It was the preaching of the CROSS that pricked the hearts of the hearers. Repentance and Water Baptism were the commands given after conviction seized their hearts.

Today, Acts 2:38 is the whole message of the modern day OP preacher. Is the cross even necessary to you?

Thomas Fudge's book "Christianity Without The Cross" might prick the hearts of many OP preachers today.

I've run into this alot... and it's a complete over generalization and in at least 90% of the cases, untrue.

Our preachers don't get up every Sunday and say.. REPENT, BE BAPTISED IN JESUS NAME AND GET THE HOLY GHOST NOW.
That's just a silly over generalization.

ALL of the pastors and preachers I have heard in my entire lifetime in Pentecost (minus Joel Osteen and company HA) have preached a lot more than just those few words.

Please don't use those silly sterotypes that are basically baseless.

We don't get up and hammer Acts 2:38 without anything else, anymore than you get up and hammer.. "

God loves you... God loves you just the way you are... Just Let him Love you, let him come in to your heart... all you have to do is accept him.... "
.................... OR DO YOU?????

Seriously though, enough with the over generalizations. It's getting old. And it's false.

OVER GENERALIZATION... borne out of ignorance I hope... and not plain stupidity.

Side note... last I checked, Jesus told us to take up our crosses and follow him. And the cross is more than just a place where God showed his great love for us... but it's a place where we lay down our wills and follow him... There's a cross we bear as well... we don't just sail through life without God expecting something from us. We weren't saved to be saved only, but so that we would reach for others.
