Re: Mooney Guns for "Secret" Meeting in Detroit?
I still don't understand why people are not posting the names of the preachers who attended the MI meeting only initials.
Why is posting the names a problem? Cany anybody answer this questions?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Mooney Guns for "Secret" Meeting in Detroit?
Barb, Thanks for your posts about your church and pastor.
I think I read a post where someone intimated that Anthony Mangun was at the same place philosophicaly as his SIL. From what I know that is not the case. Ironically AM, who is consieredl liberal by many (which I don't understand) is apparently much more conservative than Pastor Hennigan.

Anyone who thinks AM is at the same place as his SIL is .... is delusional ... this is the same man who had his choir say Acts 2:38 as the Apostolic pledge of allegiance a few years ago at BOTT.
Nor do I see AM caving on dress standards ... In contrast, take a look at the belief of JH's belief statement and church website and it could be any Christian Church, USA.
That said ... it has become apparent that AM is willing to fellowship those he does not necessarily agree with ....
As he seems, as of late, to have no qualms preaching for many who do not share his values and/or convictions. Maybe like TFT ... he wants to believe his grandkids are saved ?

This is what ALL Christians should do no matter the length of hair or the dress, IMO. I know that many quote, unquote "libs
like me would fellowship the "cons" without much reservation. Though a good number of them are no harsh or too critical to us "libs" some are very rude about how we are hell bound and such. I think that if the "libs" backed away from their legalism arguement and the cons backed away from legalsts (in some cases) that fellowship could and would happen. Fellowship does not equal Organization, nor should it. Right?

Without knowing specifically where each of them stand on all topics, I would imagine that is an accurate statement. Jeff is my pastor, and we are certainly not on the conservative side of the spectrum.

So where would you place the hands on your churches "UPC Clock"? Think of a clock in the sense of the doomsday clock that scientist have the hands a couple of minutes before midnight because of the threat of nuclear destruction How close are you guys to leaving voluntarily or being forced out? Does it depend on how firmly districts will act on the Bernard letter template of getting pastors / churches in line?

I can't imagine them doing that with them trying to get Great Lakes University launched as a Oneness University. To leave the largest Oneness org. would be very counterproductive. Especially an org. that is not known to treat kindly those who leave it.
