Sure, Ricky Ricardo...PastorD thinks it's a wonderful church, but...in his opinion, it stands for things the brethren leaving the UPCI are complaining about, so why would the brethren want our MI brethren in the new org?!
At least that's what I think he's asking...

Oh, ok, thanks, Lucy!
Now I get it..........yes, that's correct, the church has never preached against television, and you raise an excellent point, Pastor D........not sure why the new group would want that church, other than for the prestige and financial support?

If they wanted checks and balances, well they are leaving a whole organization of people with differing viewpoints. That is one of the great things about being part of a large organization, you have all sides of the issues represented, it is how you balance each other.
I thought that the reason that these men were leaving was that they couldn't "compromise" their beliefs. Why would they be looking for balance at this point?

I didn't mean "checks and balances" in regards to the new org.'s firmly held beliefs. I meant someone outside their group to monitor that they handle things ethicaly, correctly, and in a right spirit. Someone who could speak up and say when they felt a wrong spirit was manifesting itself in any decision making. Someone to help insure rancor was kept out. I have no idea if this is the case. I was just trying to figure out some rationale for ultra cons to have a lib at their meeting!

I know, I was being the DA (not DAN) but if were under the scenario that you are setting up, it would be a wise move.

If we are speaking of the same person, he is far from a lib, CC...I love him to death, but Thaddy thinks everyone not like him is a lib.
This elder I am referring to may not preach against tv, but that does not a liberal make, IMO...

It just makes no sense to me that those who are against TV and creating a meeting, movement, alliance, org based on their disagreement with TV would invite and actively pursue a church that advertises on TV and has a church full of TV's.

Yeah, I caught it the second time around........I'm a bit slow, but Barb enlightened me.
And, I wouldn't say the church is FULL of TV's.........there's still enough room for a small pulpit, and few folding chairs!
