Mitchell was one of the best when I last heard him, sad to see this other junk!

R. Mitchell in my opinion is more hype than anything else. He is probably taking HUGE numbers of pledges but I doubt the returns are equal.
I find it so interesting that when the pastor wanted to pay off the note on our church, he invited R.M. to men's retreat and low and behold in one of those furrowed brow spiritually intense moments when we were at our most vulnerable, guess what? We took a pledge offering.
We were so excited when the pastor got up on Sunday morning and told how at mens retreat we took pledges to pay off the church note...and "we would like to bring Brother Mitchell to the pulpit to preach to us..." Not knowing what was in his little personal strong box at the time.
I AGREE!!! He was on fire, I had never even heard of him before that.
I heard Brent preach one of his very first messages.... in the open grassy area between the boys dorms and the circle... Brent, his brother Nathan and Bobby Bolenbacher used to have some serious church... of course Bobby B was usually the preacher cause he had the most fire.... the only drawback was that you couldn't understand much of what he said. But he WAS anointed as was Brent and Nathan when they ever got the chance to take the "pulpit".
Brent's dad's teaching on the book of James impacted my life immeasurably!

There is nothing wrong with paying off the church note, but the strategy to bring in a preacher-come-fund-raiser-motivational-speaker to lead the charge under the guise of something spiritual is some of what gives me my suspicious perspective about lots of other things and motivations of the church.

Giving to the church, no matter what the particular fund drive, is always going to be spiritual.
What about a capital campaign.....Maxwell, AOG, Art Hodges..they all do it as a service to help raise funds for new buildings and such.
I have been preaching in many churches where pastor said, "can you help us with such and such?" Libs and cons alike want more money!
The very reason why I try and stay away from this forum is the self righteous judges that hate True Apostolic Ministry and are so critical of everything and everybody. You can put that in your pipe and smoke it! I could care LESS to be banned from this forum!
How is it R.L Mitchell's fault that he can preach Faith for Finances and take up offerings? Did he count it? NO Did he get it? NO How do I know - I have been there and done that and got criticized from the stingy self righteous tightwad judges just like Brother Mitchell has.
Most of the time - we did not get 1/10 of what was raised and left town disappointed to go to the next place while the PASTOR went on vacation with the money! The fact remains - Brother Mitchel is still out there - in a different nation just about every week, feeding, preaching, ministering, healing, delivering while you sit for DAYS on a stupid computer so you can be so critical and judgmental to everyone.
I did see R. L Mitchell pray for a retarded boy that had his tongue wider than his mouth and hung down below his chin. Brother Mitchell slapped his hands on that teenage boy that could not talk all his life and COMMANDED DELIVERANCE in the Name of Jesus and that tongue rolled back in that boys mouth and his eyes focused and God gave him his right mind and he is healed TODAY! I saw him curse warts and them disappear by the next morning.
I saw a man with one leg 6 inches shorter and had been that way all his life and Brother Mitchell took the mans shoes off and prayed for him and the mans leg grew 6 inches and spine straighted up and he walked and ran all over the building. THAT IS APOSTOLIC!
You guys want to make accusations about some rumor you heard from some jealous preacher that tried to ruin this great man. Let's see who believes in YOU when YOU have a nervous breakdown and have to be led to the bathroom because you don't know who you are or where you are.
BUT GOD IS A DELIVERER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE did not need YOU or your bunch to restore him - GOD RESTORED HIM and he is bigger and better now that ever before and guys in the largest churches in America BEG him to come and prophesy over them! You think he or those of us that left you NEED YOU????????? Don't fool yourself! UPC guys are lining up to BEG him to preach for them. They don't DESERVE to have Prophet Mitchell preach for them - where were they when he didn't even know his name??????????????

Glad to see you back AB... The truth is told in your post!!! However, as you know, some of us in the UPC didn't turn our back on him... Some of us were there for him and his son... But for the most part, you are right...
