My friend when he invited Sister Benincasa and I to their church. He had his elderly mother walk over to my wife. She assured her that no harm would ever come to her and my daughters. They definitely don't go and hand out snakes to people. Snakes, sipping strychnine and burning themselves with fire, is only reserved for the true believers. My wife is TERRIFIED of snakes, paw meadow bugs, alligators, tree frogs, bullfrogs, spiders, and snakes.
Since my wife doesn't like snakes, I couldn't put her through all that. Also when you are preaching for non-serpent handlers (you being a visiting minister) the dumbest, stupidest, moronic move you can make is go over to Brand X.
Even if the pastor is cool with brand X. The saints aren't cool with it, believe me. When you go to a place, eat what is set before you, and don't go house to house. Especially if they are handling snakes, believe in three gods, or pray to William Branham and Joseph Braham.

It's easy to judge people we don't know except through youtube videos and hearsay.
Are there wackjobs up in them thar hollers? Sure. Probably not as many as in them big cities, though, who don't even know which bathroom to use.

Now you made a good point.

The machine crashed right into my face ( was too close to my work) . it knocked me clean off the top of the ladder. 10 feet straight back on my back, since I don't use a paddle switch (don't like'em) the machine starting taring up the ground near my head. I turned over hit the button and shut her down. My face was covered in blood, I thought I knocked out my upper row of teeth, and broke my nose. Went over to my cooler grabbed an ice bag and held it on my face, feeling for my teeth. They were there, halleluyah! Nose was all messed up, and the cartilage was hurt, but no broke nose. Praise Jesus! Yes, looking forward of dying by old ageism.

Yikes! I think you need to reconsider your position on that paddle switch!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Paddle switch you end up white knuckling the machine. I just need to quit when I'm tired from grinding all day. But thank you for the advise. Also are you practicing singing with Sister CC1 to do that duet together at church?

I'd be worried about that too. But from what I've gathered, they don't condemn anyone who doesn't handle snakes. It's more for those who feel the desire to obey the command and demonstrate their devotion openly.

This is very interesting. How they wouldn’t let you near a serpent. Because of your views of taking reefer for healing. You could praise with them, sing and shout. But they wouldn’t let you touch an earthworm armed with a firecracker let alone a venomous serpent.

Chris, these snakehandlers no matter what anyone would say about them. Would never let you touch a serpent. Definitely not as a guest, for sure. But in you were to attend they finding out your beliefs concerning marijuana no way.
They would see that not only as a lack of faith, but that you are taking a substance which fogs the mind.
