Elder Epely & Toofless,
You two ought to be ashamed of yourselves talking about a good steakhouse while I am sitting here starving!
Oh well, some homemade lasagna should be ready in a little while. No steak though..................

Re: Goodbye Okmulgee...I love you
ONE YEAR LATER
Yesterday was a year ago I resigned the church in Okmulgee and was voted in at Corinth.
It has been a journey.
My family and I have experienced God's blessings in many areas.
In the past year, the Lord allowed us to purchase a dream home. It was important, for me, to find a house that my wife would really enjoy. Well, the Lord went beyond my expectations. Needless to say, we love our home in Corinth.
The church here is growing. Not so much by numbers (although we do have a few new families) but in consecration, prayer, evangelism, and worship. We have labeled this year to be a "Year of Increase".
We haven't seen the number of people baptized or receive the Holy Ghost that I was hoping to see but it will happen in time. We have had some very deep moves of God, for which I am very thankful. We have started a Drama team, praise singers, added new musicians, and accomplished some needed organization within the church structure. We also installed a projector. This is a huge help when teaching.
We are also thankful to finally be around family. We never had that in Okmulgee. But moving here, we lost all our friends. We miss that almost more than anything.
I still love the people and the church in Okmulgee. I spent 14 years of my life with them. It was important to me that when I left the people didn't. I figured it to be a good gauge of how well I taught them. Only one young person left when I resigned. Everyone else kept right on going. The new pastor seems to be doing well. They have prayed through 42 people in less than a year. I couldn't be happier for them. They are great people who love the Lord.
As I enter into my second year of labor in Corinth, I truly believe we are going to have a great revival within the church and a harvest of souls. We are learning to love the people here more and more every day and I believe in the place God has sent me.

Great, now you are really going to ignite the discussion on how much a Pastor's home should cost.
Folks should consider that a $100 10 bedroom dream home in Mississippi is a $half million mansion here in the West...

Trust me, there is a great story behind how we were able to get this house.

It would be awesome to hear! If its not too personal to share...
Also I have a question for ya... you remember our mutual friend that moved from Okmulgee and had attended your church to OKC and lived with us? Do you know of anyone there she would keep in contact with? We lost touch and really worried about her as of late Please pm if you do thanks!

Here's the story. Short and to the point (I don't like typing ).
When we moved to Corinth, finding a house we liked and could afford was a nightmare. I wasn't very excited at the prospect of fulfilling my wishes for my wife in finding a house she would enjoy.
In steps my BIL (brother-in-law). He is an extremly weathly person. He and his wife called and said they wanted to help get us a house that we wouldn't have to do any remodeling on. Well, we were happy beyond words. But they never gave a figure. I still didn't know what to expect.
My SIL starts looking on the internet with my wife at houses. I was shocked at the prices my SIL was looking at. We looked at many houses. Several we really liked but was beat by a few hours on getting a contract.
Finally, the night of our wedding anniversary on the way back to my parents' house from eating out, she sees a for sale sign. The next day, we make an appointment to look at like 4 homes.
When we came to this one, we knew "this is the one". It has EVERYTHING we were wanting. 3 1/2 acres, hardwood floors, the exact appliances, distance from town, hills in the back for my girls to ride 4 wheelers, a $30,000 barn with 4 stalls, 2 large storage rooms, and 2 covered areas. And the list goes on...
When it was all said and done, I was sent a check for $100,000 to put down on the house.
God is good!
