Re: Colin Powell is no Republican

Why doesn't he just join the Democratic Party?
That's where he belongs anyway

Within the past 8 years McCain's cozied up to Bush real nice, though yes, criticizing him here and there. McCain even kissed and made up with Falwell for political expediency.

Oh, and how wise is Obama to pick a VP candidate that the people have voted out of Presidential candidate contention the last three times. That tells me he will be a president who will disregard the will of the people.
Actually, it was Democrats (not the American people as a whole) who felt that other Democratic candidates were better than Biden. However, Biden is one of the top Democrats on the playing field.

Which is a sure sign your either unsure of yourself or awefully arrogant. But that is the sign of a true liberal.
Are you wanting to go personal?

I love how the Dems are accusing repubs of "going personal". What did John F Kerry and Al Gore do when they fought George Bush. All we heard about was how he got drunk when he was in college. HYPOCRISY! Getting drunk and launching your Senate campaign in a terrorist-sympathizers front room are two different things, and both important. A Job for CEO of a company, or an FBI position would include a whole lot more than what you believe, but WHO ARE YOU. These are legitimate questions.

Ummmmm...my reference to going personal was directed at scotty for insinuating that I'm either unsure of myself or arrogant....then tying it up with a pretty little bow by saying that's the mark of a true liberal. Honestly....I thought what he said sounded pretty arrogant. I'm glad that not all conservatives are arrogant.

hmmm... guess Bill Clinton is just the exception.

Hmmm.
Of course, you're not a staunch partisan.

Re: Colin Powell is no Republican

I think that the argument of the McCain pick of Palin gave us a good opportunity to see partison hacks in all their glory. I lost all respect for Karl Rove and his opinion when I saw him go after the potential pick of Kaine (which of course did not even happen). Then praise the pick of Palin even though she was more lacking in the very same areas that he criticized Kaine for. After Palin was picked, he started to praise the selection of a small town mayor. It all adds up to people pretty much realizing that politicians and constituents alike are so wrapped up in their party, that they don't even attempt to use objectivity or common sense. This video or variations of it have been making its rounds like wildfire (Jon Stewart basically destroyed him in one youtube version of this but I did not want to post it here as there are a few crass references later in the video).

People are tired of partisan games, blind loyalties that are not leading to the best interest of American people, and the lack of real accountability that all of that breeds.

It doesn't compare? Are you kidding?

Of course it compares. Good grief.

She's run a State for almost 2 years.

Obama has 143 working days of experience in the senate. He's spent more time running for president that actually working in his Senate position.

And if state-level experience is so inferior to "federal Senate experience", as some would claim, then ...

1... Bill Clinton should never have been considered worthy to be president. (or any of the many other governors who became president)

2... How come nobody made an issue of Howard Dean "only" having state-level experience when he was running for president in 2004, when he was "only" the Governor of Vermont, a state smaller in population than Alaska?

If you're just trying to be witty, I can take that bro. Since I know you're not going personal, it's cool.
