For many years now you could buy the UPCI mailing list. No doubt at least one of the 7 sponsors have already compiled/bought this list. NW would have used it in mailing out Apostolic World Report, in Pentecom, etc. JG would've already had it from sponsoring the East Coast conference. TLC would've already had it from JCM mailings.

In 2001 they were giving away for FREE the entire directory in .pdf format to anyone who wanted it. If the UPC is willing to give it away to some and sell it to others, they must not concern themselves with the content and intent printed.

Now, if you go to the "church locater" function at upci.org, you will find a new circle-the-wagon mentality: "Not without consent" - "we know your I.P.".
This all began two months ago. It was never a problem before now.

Sorry Elder .... the commitments made by UPCI ministers are to abide by the affirmation statement which calls for keeping UNITY while not seeking to contend for the "DISUNITY" of the Body. Folks are going to have differing views ... don't confuse UNIFORMITY w/ UNITY.

Second, they commit to the teachings and positions of the fellowship as expressed by the manual's position papers ...this includes withdrawing honorably when your personal convictions cause you to want no longer desire fellowship .... and not seek to influence others to leave or stop supporting the UPCI

and thirdly they commit at the time of application to not cause strife ...

2007 Manual Page 159

Position Papers/Ministerial Code of Ethics

ends with...

"Having accepted a pastorate, I will not use my influence to alienate the church or any portion thereof from the fellowship or support of the United Pentecostal Church International. If my convictions change, I will be honorable enough to withdraw."

Each UPCI minister affirms in the AS:

“We shall endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit until we all come into the unity of the faith, at the same time admonishing all brethren that they shall not contend for their different views to the disunity of the body.

If the vote had gone the other way we would humbly submit.

Perhaps it was never used before in such an unethical manner! Just MHO of course!

Hmmmmmm...... Seems I recall hearing a tape of the sponsor of BOTT contending that the UPCI should go on Television during the last meeting. Which at the time was against the Manual and is certainly the most divisive issue of our time for the UPCI.

I think it's clear ... Triple E. Many of these men are claiming integrity as their defense ... using buzzwords like ... personal convictions, principles and beliefs ....

Yet they want their cake and eat it too ... some have stayed around as to actively recruit others to stop supporting or leave ... Many can vouch that they have received phone calls from underlings... asking them to do so ... while telling them not to tell their leadership in the UPCI ...

If these recruiters had left already ... I wouldn't have a problem w/ it ... but they refuse to abide by their ethical commitments.

What's even more fascinating is the attempt to circumvent the UPCI's bylaws with their proposed plan to offer them the choice of

1. A license .... which would require leaving the UPCI

or

2. Membership ... which would allow UPCI ministers to keep their licenses w/ the UPCI but still fellowship w/ the "Falling Away" Tulsa Radicals.

Some evangelists/pastors are loving this second option because they could the best of both worlds ... and perhaps increased preaching venues will mean more preaching revenues $$$.

I SAY WITHDRAW HONORABLY.

AM was stating a position he held on a forthcoming legal resolution ... everyone had the opportunity and right to state their view on their own platforms...

Seems the UC's even wrote a book prior to GC expressing their views ... mailed it out to the entire fellowship as was their right....

It's amazing that the rule of law crowd has such bitterness and disdain for the legality of the resolution process and the freedoms to express divergent views.
