So what do you and Epley force the bridegroom that is not a virgin to wear on his wedding day.

Do you make him wear a scarlet tux Do you strip of of his bow tie?

how do you two distingish the virgin bridegroom from the bridegroom that has given up his virginity.

How serious does the American church deal with fornication?
Wow... maybe a note from a doctor would be in order?

Most of the time, ya'll don't know if they are pure or not!! Poor bride, has to bear the shame of THEIR sins. More than likely, he enticed her.

Most churches in Brazil ask them to repent publicly if they hold an office. Of course we do lots of things different here. I do not feel it a disgrace or see anything wrong with asking forgiveness. In fact I think it makes a person stronger.
He that hideth his sin will not prosper. I am not talking about stoning someone but covering sin is wrong. Sin must be forgiven.

How do you know if anyone truly repents? If they choose to pick themselves up with God's help and walk in the right direction, that's a start.

If someone is living IN fornication, living together before marriage, then I wouldn't think a church wedding is in order at all, but perhaps being married in the office or privately. But if someone has repented, and they want to make things right and put their relationship on a level that is pleasing to God...then I say let them.

We do have guidelines we go by but I was just wondering what stateside people teach about purity...
I have watched in over 40 years of ministry those that kept themselves pure before marriage seemed to have little trouble along those lines after marriage. Not 100 % of the time but as a rule in dealing with thousands of people over the years.
I want to help those I teach not only today but in the years to come.
I do believe that purity is very important. I do believe it can affect your marriage. I just don't believe that wearing a different color than white to show your impurity is going to have a positive affect on the marriage.

I like Berk's answer, a white or non-white tie, he he.

Serious??? The wedding tradition of a virgin bride is the white dress is it not? No one even cares about how the groom looks, he is lost on HER day? Isn't that what we always hear? Did anyone come to me on my wedding day and say, "Wow Monkey, how lovely and beautiful you look today!""" Umm, no, what I heard was, "You lucky dog!" When the tradition becomes a white tux, then you can have my answer, ok???
