Re: Ruth Heflin
So then, BECAUSE everybody disagrees about something, THEREFORE there is no way to know the truth!
How hard is it to understand? I don't think the bible is hard to understand in anything that is necessary for a soul to understand to be saved and have eternal life. How is that even possible, unless the bible is a mishmash of manmade baloney, like the Rig Veda or the Koran or the Pearl of Great Price?
No, the facts are these: MOST people just don't like what the bible teaches, so they choose to believe what they want, and when questioned about it and shown the bible doesn't line up to their teaching they hem and haw about 'nobody knows or can know, there's all this confusion'.
The only confusion is in the minds of those who are disobedient.
Rom 10:16 But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

I was raised a three stepper, from as long as I can remember. I was preaching it by the time I was in high school. I have won many over to oneness that were Trinitarian. I did not change my stance by persuasion from others.
The thing is my whole view of what salvation is has changed. So much so that I doubt any one on here would grasp the concept. I would not know where to start.
As for oneness, I will always be oneness. But even that is subject to debate in oneness groups as I have found out. Oneness people cannot agree on what oneness is, how can one say that they teach what the apostles taught, when they cannot agree on the basic doctrine of oneness? That does not bring in standards, baptisms, prophecy or any other subject that we call part of the apostles doctrine, that seems to be up to interpretation, depending on what part of the country or even state you live in.
These things above are things that you seem to state are unquestionable doctrines, but unquestionable in who's eyes?
Just what are these strict admonitions Paul laid out? The dividing line seems to be in the form of man made doctrines that are additions to scripture, yet Ultra Cons state liberals take away from scripture. Who is right and who is wrong? Years ago I began to try and find the middle road, I found there is no middle road, there is only one road. That is the road of self sacrifice of loving your neighbor as yourself and loving God with your whole heart soul and might. All made possible by the cross and done for the glory of God the father and Lord Jesus Christ.

So are you saying that everyone is anathema? Including yourself? Because Paul admonition (since you asked) was that some were preaching another good news? Which Paul goes on to say, there wasn't any other. Wasn't any other? Therefore logically anyone preaching adding or taking away from what the Apostles originally taught would be another good news. Paul was warning the fledgling first century church that, if he himself, or any other of the apostles, or even a divine angelic messenger were to come to add or take away from what was already offered. Then they would be anathema. Interesting thing about the word anathema, it literally means that you are utterly cursed from the presence of God. Blaspheming the Holy Ghost? Presbyterians get all upset when I point that out to them. But they only pooch out the limp and cross their arms with the demeanor of a pouty child.
I can't wrap my head around Dispensationalism let alone the weak watered down soteriology of the mainstream Industrial Church Complex.
I love you my brother and you and your family are always in my prayers.
Jesus was adamant, when He said the road to eternal destruction was a broadway, which leads to a wide open roomy gate. He said that a huge amount of souls would flow into it. Jesus then said the road to eternal salvation is extremely hard to navigate it leads to a gate which has a tight opening. Jesus said few would enter.
I don't know how those words can be circumvented or annulled. But the Apostle Paul drew the line in the sand when He said in 2 Corinthians 11:4
"When someone comes to you telling about another Jesus whom we didn't tell you about, you're willing to put up with it. When you receive a spirit that is different from the Spirit you received earlier, you're also willing to put up with that. When someone tells you good news that is different from the Good News you already accepted, you're willing to put up with that too."
It has been happening for 2,000 years and counting. Nothing new, but for me and my house we are not swallowing the cool aid and calling it good.
Acts 17:30 "God overlooked the times when people didn't know any better. But now he commands everyone everywhere to turn to him and change the way they think and behave."
Man made doctrines? Really?
Bro, my study and research had me increase in the Apostolic faith which I was originally taught. My eschatology didn't take away from my Apostolicism it only enhanced it. In Acts 17 God actually turned a blind eye to situations concerning Judeans, Israelis, and the Romans, but when Jesus Christ had come to transform Israel through His death, burial, and resurrection. The party was OVER. The schoolmaster dropped off the students with the teacher, and recess was permanently over.
People have turned Church into entertainment where the attendees pay a cover charge. Baptisms are done like old Henry Ford's model Ts flying off a conveyor belt. Postmodern Churchanity has replaced Christianity. Postmodernism is rife in our society, and like a weed wrapped its straggler vines around her throat. I am One God Jesus name baptism and the infilling with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. That isn't debatable for me. Why? Because it is like someone telling me that "oh one day you will be a Larkenite Dispensationalist." I couldn't, because I know too much, same with the Apostolic One God, Jesus name baptism a must, infilling of the Holy Ghost with tongues a must. Three steps? One step? Some of you bros are going to find out that you all were supposed to come into this holistically, instead of sectioning it to death, until it couldn't even get a fly high.

Evan. Benincasa, your views of salvation are what you see from scripture, but I'm sure they differ from everyone else on here in some way. So who is to say what is right and what is wrong? You have to study and figure it out from the Word.
You seem to have some sort of personal vendetta against me and what we do. I'm sorry you feel that way. We teach Jesus' name baptism and infilling of the Holy Ghost. We just rebaptized whole churches in Africa and the Philippines, once they heard our teaching on it. I'm not sure what else you want from me. Just because I won't way that everyone else is hell bound?? No, I don't believe that. I believe we have to preach and teach what God has shown us, but I don't believe that everyone else will be lost.
Meanwhile, I hope you win many souls for Jesus. And I hope you learn to be nice to people who don't think exactly like you.

Wait!
Personal vendetta?
Sherri...remember I'm one of your imaginary friends.
Didn't your husband call everyone you talk to on the forum that?
Anyway, I love you, I love your brother Scott, when your dad had that bad fall I was praying for him. Personal Vendetta? Are you saying that because I'm Sicilian?

Apostolic Brothers who don't agree on salvation? Everyone who I ever crossed paths with believe that you must repent, you must be baptized in Jesus name, and infilled with the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. I'm not the only one.
