Re: Can One Be Saved By Following The Words Of Jes

Sooo I'm amazed anyone can claim to be a Christian and state that Jesus didn't tell us enough to be saved. I'm in disbelief on this one.

Yes, it's incomprehensible, just shows the power of religion.

The question,...

The answer.
NO! Because Jesus did not reveal His Plan, until a few minutes before He was taken up.
The New Covenant could not come until Jesus was glorified and sent the Holy Ghost down.
Therefore the complete Plan is not in the Four Gospels. If you are talking about when Jesus walked on this earth. However, as others have told you, the entire Bible is the Word of Jesus. And it all harmonizes.
Is there any book of the Bible that is not needed, for someone to learn how to be saved?

For example....

Mat 19:16 And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?"
Mat 19:17 And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
Mat 19:18 Then he *said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
Mat 19:19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
Mat 19:20 The young man *said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"
Mat 19:21 Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

Another plan of salvation of Jesus?
The plan of salvation is in the words of Jesus taken as a whole not piecemeal. The apostles were somehow able to put it all together and consistently taught the same things regarding salvation that they had heard from Christ and then the Spirit after Christ's ascension.

I mean I can see someone saying Jesus told us how to be saved but his instructions were a little ambiguous and thus the rest of the bible helps us pin down exactly what he means in places. I can see that but to say Jesus didn't tell us how to be saved baffles me.

Re: Can One Be Saved By Following The Words Of Jes

Jesus told us in John 3:5 how to be saved and Peter explained salvation in Acts 2:38. Works for me.
