Cars and boats I never borrow. My house was a short term loan paid off 20 years ago. I bought the house before my other house was sold. University was cash. Farm paid off 35 years ago. It was a short term note.

I don't see debt as wrong. I can see many times debt is a distraction. I have a cousin in Europe dying rapidly of cancer. How many brothers does she have that can miss work for weeks and spend those last weeks with her? If people are on a tight budget, they have no freedom to take care of needs of others.

Seriously, I shouldn't respond. When I was in college, we borrowed a lot to speculate on an exploding price of chemicals.

Lot of money to be made using "leveraged" dollars to buy 10,000 gallons of antifreeze going up 25% in a week. I have the tools to invest and trade commodities for short term gains on the market.
For most people, there is no way working with stocks or commodities could be done with wisdom.
