Great Cindy, now our informant is dead. How do we keep tabs on al-Shabab? How will they now retaliate? They will most likely liquidate and vanish. Why? Because people have forgotten that we are at war.
Everyone is starting to act like Liberals. lol
Let's imagine we are at war and we put our strategies on the news and all the secret information we have. We'd never win the war.

I am not saying they have to go into detail. Just that there are valid threats to security. And that is the reason we have these policies in place.

Tell that to the NY Times and that other outfit (name escapes) that just posted all that info...really, none of the scenarios of years past hold the same amount of water.
This isn't the same kind of war America use to fight. The government use to let the military win...now they have to abide by so many rules that if it was the same during WWII, we'd still be trying to stave off Germany...or have lost.

Very good point. I can agree with that.

That doesn't make sense.

The intelligence community acted unintelligently and let him board.
Quote:
According to the report, the committee found "systemic failures across the Intelligence Community which contributed to the failure to identify the threat posed by Abdulmutallab." Specifically, according to the report, the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) was not well-enough organized to "fulfill its mission" and the U.S. intelligence community does not have access to the technology needed for analysts to intelligence data.

He was on a terrorist watch list.
Quote:
The report also cites 14 specific failures - what the committee terms "a series of human errors, technical problems systemic obstacles, analytical misjudgments, and competing priorities" - that allowed Abdulmutallab to board a plane to the United States.

But airports consistantly report that they are at threat level orange. Signs indicate anyone passing through check point is subject to additional screening. There are all kinds of notifications.
It all boils down to Americans needing to know what threat levels mean... and know how to read the signs at security check points.
But Americans are increasingly lazy. They want the Government to make everything news at eleven and possibly send a holiday post card explaining what to expect.
It's an individual's personal responsibility to be informed. Imagine telling a police officer, "Well, why didn't they notify me that a red light meant stop?" lol

Sorry about that. Some of us own companies and still think government workers work for the taxpayers. Under the socialist theme, the people work for the government.
It is about who is working for whom.
I havn't punched a time clock since college jobs.
Government employee handbooks have explicit rules on abuse of computers for personal use.

Wait a minute....if this is stemming from last year's underwear guy, somebody was lazy all right, but it's not the American people.
Nearly a year later and they're just now getting around to enhanced screenings?

This is why so many people just aren't buying all these new TSA rules.
It just looks like the constitution isn't worth the paper it's printed on anymore, imo.
They need to get better at what they're doing but quick if they ever expect the American people to go along.

Well, don't be too astounded. Giving up our liberties just isn't all that easy for many, many Americans.
