If this television resolution passes and UPC ministers pull out . . .

or

If this television resolution is defeated and UPC ministers pull out . . .

Good riddance! Seriously, it's stupid to hinge whether or not you're going to stay UPC on a resolution. If ministers are going to go, just go now.

Why is it stupid to you? Resolutions have meanings and consequences. I may not agree with one side or another in a resolution debate but I would never say that some issues are not worthy of considering ones affiliation with a religous denomination.

It just would take some explaining to a new convert if they heard that the org that you belong to FAVORS using TV when you BELIEVE, and rightly so, that using TV is not good
CC2, I mean AGAPE: You don't get it (maybe because you're "out"). If this passes, those that still preach against it will now be labeled trouble-makers. It's about UNITY, remember? The subject of TV and TV "evangelism" will be changed from a United position, to one of "personal convictions". If you preach against it, you are promoting your own personal beliefs to the disunity of the brethren. If you preach in favour of it, well, that's loving the lost!

N-
I am with you man. The truth is that there will be people that will love it and some that will hate it. I for one think that it is the best way to get to people. I have proof too that is not just my opinion.

Ok, there is ONE Large ALJC using TV to promote the local church. Thanks for the answer.

In November, or maybe in January, there will be SIX LARGE Former UPCI churches then on TV.

Brother R:

I believe you are right about this. However, there seems to be enough men leaving even before the vote to make this not just close, but verrry close.

You are on the money, SL. Many articles are now written on unity and the price we must pay to have it and the blessed promises that are ours if we have it.

It will just be a cloak of "legality" for those who favor TV (+) to poke at those who do not.

I believe you are right about this. If it passes it won't be long until you will be looked down upon for preaching against TV or the use of it.
