Excellent! Really, most excellent! Because, I could use some assistance in understanding some areas of scripture that continue to pose some problems for me – even now.
Here, I have a couple of questions that we can get started on:
[Please: Read with tongue in cheek and a smile on your lips!]
Explain the nature of God
Explain the elements and composition of God
Explain the sequence and process of creation as noted in Genesis
Explain God’s love
While the Bible may not cover all the details of these kinds of questions, there is a sufficient amount of material to study and expound upon concerning each item. I also have several hundred additional questions that pose something of a problem for me – like what made that particular year 2,000 years ago so special that God deemed it to the right time to send His Messiah to earth? Of course, there are the several theories concerning Christ’s return to earth and all that entails. Finally, lets go through the Book of Revelation - one more time. I think I can locate at least 5-10 confusing items to try to digest.
Then with the clarity of the scriptures there is no controversy over such little issues such as standards, making the knowledge and understanding of the nature and composition of God salvational (e.g., Oneness vs. Trinitarian) and why some religious rituals such as baptisms are still required but keeping the Sabbath (a ritual law?) is not. After all, where is a lack of confusion and misunderstandings, there are no controversies. Right?
Okay, all of the questions and issues I listed above are rhetorical - not a challenge for anyone to attempt to address any of them. Rather, just to indicate the reason why I answereed the poll the way I did. Conclusion:
I think I'll stick with what I consider to be a healthy dose of confusion - not that I am content to remain in that condition!
