What are exactly the temptations that are poised when young people get together to socialize in an organized setting that is not poised when they are NOT in that situation.

My feeling about the actual prom itself is that it is probably more supervised and chaperoned than an average day in public school itself. Like many people said, it is what can and does happen after the prom (when kids revert back to their typical unsupervised situations) where people can and do get in trouble. I personally don't see a problem with a supervised prom/banquet/celebration then organized activities later.

Those silly useless rules that suggest you don't go out and party? The ones where the kids get drunk, and some don't come back home because they were in an automobile accident? Or the ones who come back to find themselves pregnant because they couldn't resist the urge? Or the ones who find themselves for the first time in thier lives getting hooked on drugs? All these from kids who have good parents with morals, but found that the peer pressure was too much. Yeah, I guess to you they are silly rules, but hey, it couldn't possibly happen to your kid right? Give me a break!

WOW I didnt know all these things happen at supervised proms!!!
